ABC Blog Hop- E

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop!

For this hop we will be featuring the letter E. This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has chosen as their E element will be featured in their post.

If you came from Catherine's Blog then you're on the right track!

For my E technique, I am showing a fun Emerging Colour background. The specific stamp set I used for this did not show it to its best ability, and then I had an accident and tipped out the rest of my embossing powder so I could not do another example. I hope this still showcases how amazing this technique can be!

To start, make a coloured background using any bold stamp set. Here I used Brushstrokes and did a diagonal pattern across the cardstock.

Stamp another image in Versmark over the background, being sure that this image covers all of your different colours. Cover with clear embossing powder.

Use your heat gun to emboss the image. Here you can see I used the mountain scene from the New Zealand Greetings stamp set.

Taking a corresponding dark ink, completely cover the cardstock with ink. You can use a reinker or brayer, or rub the inkpad directly over the cardstock.

Now your embossed image should stand out and show the colours from your background stamping!

Finish your card with any other details you would like to add. here I added a sentiment and matted the banner and cardstock with some patterned paper.

Here is a closer picture of the embossed scene- I think that next time I will use a less detailed stamp. A large flower would be perfect.

If you try this technique, please let me know as I would love to see what you can come up with!
