A Brushed Birthday

I am always using sketches to create my layouts, so when I saw that the challenge this week at Heart 2 Heart was to use your favorite CTMH sketch I was very happy!

I have been meaning to scrapbook my 30th birthday photos, and so off I went to the Make It From The Heart Volume 2 ideas book to find a double page sketch. Pattern 10 appealed to me, and I also used some inspiration from Patricia Manhire's beautiful layout.

Here is the completed double page layout.

The left side features some journalling, as well as some photos from our High Tea. I matted all of the photos with Flaxen cardstock so that they stood out against the busy floral paper. I thought the paper went well with my dress!
The right side showcases photos from coffee out with my husband and boys, as well as a photo of me and my Dad at our big birthday lunch.

I used up an old stash of paper flowers, which worked really well with the colours in the paper pack. I added some flamingo dots to the centre. The 30 title was cut from the Cricut, and I added a paper pieced cupcake.

I also pieced together this cupcake on the stand, and adhered it with 3D foam tape so that it popped against the busy background. I love pink and red together!

We would love to see your favourite sketch in action, whether it be a layout, card or other project. Be sure to link up at Heart 2 Heart challenges!
