Hello Life!

Hello and welcome aboard special Australasian Close to My Heart Blog Hop. If you have arrived here from Doris Taylor's blog, Creative Inspirations, then you are in the right place. If you landed here by accident, no problem, please join in by following the link at the end of this post.

Today I would like to share with you two cards that feature stamps from the September Hello Life set- available for $25NZD each or $64 for all three only for the month of September. I used the Cardmaking set for these two cards- to see a Pocket Page I have created with the Pocket Page set please click here.

I was totally inspired this month by some recent creations from Geri and I loved her floral card with striped patterned paper. This inspired me to use the stripe pattern in our new Nevermore paper packet, as well as the new Gold Foil Tape and our new Eggplant ink colour.

Instead of adding flowers, I embellished this card with our new Sangria and Zoe Complements.

The other card from Geri that took my fancy was this one using an embossing folder to create an inked background. I had so much fun creating this card!

I inked my embossing folder with two different ink colours and then squidged some Colonial White cardstock in between the folder. I then stamped the sentiment with the cute splotches added. I felt like it needed something else so I second generation stamped a background on the sentiment with the Brushstrokes stamp set. Lastly, I added a strip of the Whimsy Fundamentals paper to ground the design.

These stamp sets are only available from your CTMH consultant until the 30th September, I'd love you to leave a comment before heading off to the next stop, Maz Wood: Inky Fingers.

  3. I love your second card... gotta try some 'squidging' I think - does that mean you didn't run it through an embossing machine, just hand pressed?

    1. Yes my squidging was just me squashing it together with my fingers :)

  6. I love to do mono printing with the embossing folders although I think I like your terminology better! It looks fantastic on your card & the colours are just lovely. Great interpretation of Geri card too. Thanks for introducing her blog - I will have to spend some time on that.
