Peek-a-boo!
Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop! This month there are 10 of us highlighting ideas to use the Peek-A-Boo style of thin cuts we have available.
This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork incorporating this technique.
If you are coming from Maz’s Blog, you are on the right track!
I'd like to show you a way to use the Multi Square Window Thin Cuts.
It is fun to put a separate image behind each square, but it also makes a pretty frame for a larger background, as shown below on my project.
I used the sunflower from the Bloom With Grace Scrapbooking Stamp set and Thin Cuts to stamp six sunflowers in Toffee ink, and layered them behind the window frame. I then added a coloured Sundance sunflower to the front of the card and added my sentiment, with a wooden heart from the Bloom With Grace Wood Shapes as a simple embellishment. I then matted the entire card onto a piece of patterned paper from the Bloom With Grace Paper Packet and I had my finished card!
As a side note, I stamped the sentiment with Espresso ink from the Bloom With Grace Cardmaking stamp set and placed that on a hexagon I cut from the Stitched Hexagon Thin Cuts, although I cut off the stitched edges as I wanted the stitching to only be the feature on the window frames. I then sponged it with Sundance ink and added some Toffee ink around the edges.
Thanks for stopping by today. Please continue onto Michelle’s Blog where you will find some additional artwork highlighting this technique. Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought of my variation and happy hopping!
