Pocket Power Technique Blog Hop

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!  This month there are 9 of us showcasing pockets in our projects- this could be flip flaps, pocket pages or even journalling pockets.

This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork incorporating this technique.

If you are coming from Miss Carrie's Creations you are on the right track!

The thing I love about the Pocket Pages is their ability to mix and match with traditional 12x12 page layouts. The new Into The Wild Deluxe Scrapbooking Kit  comes with a mix of these, as well as full instructions on creating your own double page layouts with both 12x12 and pocket pages.

Here is the full double page layout, which I will be using for photos of my son's school camp.

Here's a closer look at the Pocket Page- I love the mix of photo sizes as well as the layout ideas so that you don't have to guess where your photos should go!

You can fit a lot of detail into each pocket- here I've used a combination of patterned paper, fussy cutting, Cricut shapes and stamping in order to add some extra touches and tell the story behind the photos.

A lot of the Deluxe workshops now come with a combination of 12x12 and Pocket Page projects, which I highly recommend if you are new to scrapbooking or just have a lot of photos to get through. The pocket pages make layouts quick and easy, and also use a minimum of paper and cardstock and you can really make your embellishments and journalling stand out.

Now HOP on over to see what Tamara has created!

Something Fierce Deluxe Scrapbooking Kit

Have you seen the new Deluxe options for the CTMH Workshops Your Way?

They give you some additional options for layouts with things like stamping, embossing and Flip Flaps, which are great for more experienced scrapbookers or those who want to play with new options.

I put together one of the layouts from this Deluxe kit using the suggested alphabet stamp set, celebrating my son's 9th birthday party. I love the blues and reds together, as well as the layering and funky triangle elements that were cut from the patterned paper.

Here is the front of the double page layout, with the Flip Flap overlay showing the photo of my son with his Fortnite photo booth props.

Then we turn the Flip Flap over, we have the 9th birthday feast on display as well as some more fun embellishments and another page using the Pocket Memory protectors.

Everything you need to create this layout, plus two more double page layouts and a single page layout, is included in this kit.

I'm linking this layout up with the Super Friends Scrap Our Stash Challenge, as well as the Use Your Stuff Numbers challenge for the 9th birthday layout.

Regatta PML Layout

Since I am a mother of boys, I love any Paper Packet that is more masculine. When I saw the Regatta line, I had to have it! It is my new favourite paper packet, which is the theme this week over at H2H challenges.

The thing I love the most about the new Paper Packets is that they come with some Picture My Life cards that you can cut up and use on your projects, cards or in PML layouts.

Here I have used the Regatta PML pages to do a page on my son's swimming lessons.

Here is the full 12x12 layout with photos and journalling.

This "simply the best" title was already on one of the PML cards, and I stamped 'swimming' in Sapphire ink from the Play Hard-Diving stamp set. The anchor is from the Maritime Puffies.

Here I used the starfish and boat from the Regatta Complements. I stamped 'Make a splash!' in Flaxen ink from the Beach Days stamp set onto a journalling card I had in my random stash.

This wave paper from the Regatta Paper Packet is one of my favourite designs, and so I used it as a filler panel on my layout. I added a Flaxen banner from the Artistry cricut cartridge, and stamped the sentiment in Sapphire ink from the Play Hard-Diving stamp set. Some more of the Maritime Puffies on either side finished off the banner.

What is your favourite CTMH Paper Packet? Show us by linking up with Heart 2 Heart challenges!

Santa Photo Pocket Page

I am having so much fun with my December Daily album this year, although I am a bit behind as I have been busy enjoying the beuatiful weather! However, today it is raining so it was the perfect time to catch up on my album pages.

I also thought this particular page would go great with Bitten By The Bug 2's challenge of a Santa themed project made with the Cricut.

Here is the complete pocket page with our 2015 Santa photo. It was a bit of a mission to get the photo as I was taken to hospital with a tear in my leg muscle, but we got there in the end!

Here is a close up of the Santa from the Winter Frolic cartridge. The "All I Want For Christmas" sentiment is also from the Winter Frolic cartridge, and the camera and "smile" are from Artfully Sent.

One page down, 24 to go! I will be sharing more photos of my completed layouts in the coming weeks, as well as a video flip through of my December Daily when it is complete.
