ABC Blog Hop- A
Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop for 2015!
For this hop we will be featuring the letter A. This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has chosen as their A element will be featured in their post.
If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Linda's blog ~ Scrappy Therapy. If you came from Janna Gray - The Creative Princess then you're on the right track!
This year, I thought I would focus on different backgrounds that you can create for your layouts, cards and projects using inspiration from the alphabet. Here is my first background technique!
For my A, I am featuring the My Acrylix® Blocks that Close To My Heart uses for stamping. You can put your clear stamps on them, but you can also use them to create fun backgrounds.
Here, I used Crystal Blue and Pacifica ink pads directly onto the 4x5 Acrylix® Block. I then spritzed the block with Spritz Cleaner and then stamped directly onto White Daisy Cardstock, After trimming off the white edges, this left me with a fun background that reminded me of the sea.
I then embossed the sentiment from a retired stamp set with Desert Sand ink and Versamark, using the Clear Embossing Powder.
I used a sticker from the Seaside Complements in keeping with the sea theme, and matted the background onto Desert Sand cardstock and then used one of our White Daisy cards to complete the project.
Your next stop on our Everything ABC'S blog Hop is Shelly Nemitz - Just One Pretty Piece.
In case you get lost along the way…go to Scrappy Therapy for a complete list of participants!

ReplyDeleteWhat a fun technique!
ReplyDeleteGreat card, love the technique. I've use that technique with water and now wonder if the effect is different using the Spritz cleaner. hmmm. I think I'm playing with that idea sometime soon. I also like the use of the stickers on a card.
ReplyDeleteFabulous technique! What a great idea to feature techniques for the hop. Can't wait to learn along the way.
