Let's Hear It For The Boys

This week at Heart 2 Heart challenges- we want to hear it for the boys! Maybe it's the dad, son or husband in your life- we want to see!

I created this card using some leftover scraps- but I'm really pleased with how it turned out. I cut some Kraft cardstock using the Sunburst Background Thin Cut, and then layered it on a piece of Glacier cardstock that I had splattered with the Sapphire Shimmer Brush. I then cut a larger circle in Kraft and stamped the sentiment from the My Dad Rocks stamp set.

The parts that didn't fit on the circle I fussy cut and popped up on Thin D Foam Tape. I love how the fish looks like it's jumping off the card!

Thanks for stopping by- I'd love to know what you thought of my card!

Stenciled Background with So Tweet

This week at Heart 2 Heart, we want to see you Get Inky!

I recently went to a fun consultant training day, where one of our projects was this adorable card using the new So Tweet Stamp Set and Thin Cuts

I absolutely love chickens so this was one of the first stamp sets I purchased when the new catalogue came out.

We created the background of this card by using the Stencil Pack 2 and sponging over this with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Ink. We then stamped the sentiment and the little flower icon in Raspberry Ink on a diagonal to line up with the diagonal lines. I then added the thin cut chick with the balloon that I had coloured using my markers, and stuck it to a Stitched Bracket Thin Cut that I splattered with Raspberry Shimmer Brush

The finishing touch was to add some Gold Glitter Gems- what do you think?

Happy Day Cloud Background

This week at Heart 2 Heart- the technique set is sponging- and I knew exactly what I wanted to do!

I have been waiting to use this Build A Rainbow Thin Cuts since I first purchased them- so I got to work creating a card with these.

I cut one of the clouds and used that as a template to sponge a piece of White Daisy Cardstock using Glacier Ink and a Sponge Dauber

I just kept repeating the sponging process, using the cloud thin cut as a guide, until I had completeted the background.

To create the completed card- I used a piece of yellow stripe paper from the In This Together Paper Packet and then matted the sponged background onto Grape Cardstock. I then cut the rainbow from Candy Apple, Nectarine, Clover and Lagoon cardstock and added two more clouds, which I also sponged with Glacier ink and popped up on 3D Foam Tape for some extra dimension.

I stamped the sentiment from the Hillside Cottage Cardmaking Stamp Set using Grape Ink, and my card was done! I would love to know what you think.

Celebrating Connections

This week at Heart 2 Heart, we are all about celebrating connections!

The layout I am sharing with you today has multiple layers of connection.

First- the layout shows the connection between myself and my wonderful fiance. We are celebrating here for a 40th birthday- another connection. And this layout was inspired by one of my scrappy friends Laura, which is the final connection!

I used the brand new You Are Enough Cardstock to create this layout. The photo does not do it justice as it is a stunning rose gold foil. I pieced together 13 squares of the cardstock, mixing foil and plain, at 2.5 inches square. I added a photo mat in Sapphire Cardstock, and created a beautiful butterfly embellishment using the new Layered Butterflies Thin Cuts then matted the squares on White Daisy and Blue Belle Cardstock. Lastly, I stamped the celebrate title in Sapphire Ink using the Party Girl stamp set.

We would love to see your card, scrapbook page or paper project celebrating connections!

Hey Hot Stuff!

This week at Heart 2 Heart challenges, in honour of Earth Day, use something old with something new.

I saw the cute Salt and Pepper shakers in my new Eat Play Love Wood Shapes, as well as the salt and pepper shakers n the patterned paper, and I immediately knew I wanted to pair this with my old We Belong Together stamp set, which has a whole lot of cute food pairings.

I then thought how cute all of the patterned paper squares would be on a card from this sheet of paper in the new Eat Play Love collection.

Then I had a great idea to put them under our older Multi Square Windows Thin Cuts and my card was born!

I used the Hey Hot Stuff sticker from the Eat Play Love Sticker Sheet, and the sentiment was stamped with Candy Apple Ink using the We Belong Together stamp set. I also stamped the cute little ketchup and fries from the stamp set, and the rest of the icons are form the paper packet.

I added the wooden salt and pepper shakers, and my card was done!

We would love to see your Old and New projects over at Heart 2 Heart challenges!

What's Your Angle?

This week at Heart 2 Heart challenges, we want you to show us your project using angles!

I looked through my stash and found a triangle piece of ombre paper that layered perfectly onto a card, and I loved the blue and green combo. I added it to a piece of paper from the Mix In Paper Packet, and then matted the paper onto some Lagoon cardstock.

The sentiment is stamped on Lagoon Ink from the March Stamp of the Month, Scandinavian Folk Art Greetings, and then I lastly added some simple Daisy Meadows Dots for dimension.

We'd love to see your angled projects over at Heart 2 Heart challenges!

It's A Sketch Challenge!

Heart 2 Heart has an awesome sketch challenge for you this week!

The basis of the sketch is here- I love that the measurements are provided for this sketch as it made my card so quick and easy to put together.

I used the brand new Cherry Blossoms stamp set for both the flowers and the sentiment , and the patterned papers are from the March April Mix In Paper Packet. I really love this combination of Fern, Toffee and Flamingo!

If you are inspired by this week's sketch, we would love to have you join us over at Heart 2 Heart Challenges.

Slimline Celebration Card

Welcome to the first H2H challenge of 2021!

This week we are focusing on slimline cards.

I wanted to start off pretty simple and show you all a basic card using the Party Time Paper Packet and a Slimline Card Base, as a lot of you won't have the thin cuts that go with this size of card yet.

I cut the balloons using the You Are Here Cricut collection in Lemonade, Green Apple and Sapphire cardstock.

I did use the new Pennant Thin Cuts for the sentiment banner, which are a great idea instead of trying to dovetail if you are like me and can never get your sides even!

Using a bold paper, large sentiment and one main embellishment is all I need to create fun, exciting slimline cards. If you'd like to share your slimline cards, link up with us at H2H!

Party Time Scrapbook Layout

This week at Heart 2 Heart, the theme is Party Time!

This is great timing, because my son has his birthday right before Christmas and so sometimes it is hard to focus on that when everything seems to be about Santa and shopping.

I created a fun layout for his birthday photos using the Party Time Paper Packet and Sticker Sheet paired with the Party Time Coordinating Cardstock

I wanted to showcase some of the fun papers, and the streamer background absolutely says Birthday for me! I love the present paper too, so I added some fun squares of this paper as a feature.

I created the title using the Wishing You Everything Stamp and Thin Cuts, using Lagoon and Sapphire ink, and then added a cluster of stamps and sticker beside the journal box.

I can't wait for my son's birthday in a couple of weeks to get some photos on this layout- it will be great to have yet another 2020 layout finished!

If you have any Party Time themed projects, we would love for you to share them with us at Heart 2 Heart challenges.

Chester has Catitude

This week at Heart 2 Heart, the challenge is to use Black on your projects.

I love this black polka dot paper from the Mix In Paper Packet, and so I wanted to use it to scrapbook photos of my black and white cat, Chester. I paired it with some pops of green and a border created from the new Catitude stamp set.

I used the Stitched Circle Thin Cuts to add an accent on one of the photos and added a stamped sentiment from the Catitude stamp set.

I stamped the Catituyde cat image (which is awesome by the way!) and then simply cut it up into squares to create a border along the side of my layout. This stamp set is fabulous for colouring, but I kept it to black and white to fit the theme of this page.

Lastly, I stamped another title onto the journalling card and added a sweet little paw-print stamp too.

I'm really pleased with how this layout turned out- I love the black and white cat border and these photos really deserved to have their story told!

Christmas Candles

It's nearly Christmas time! OK well we still have a while to go, but Christmas has come early at Heart 2 Heart Challenges this week.

I really liked the little candles in the Jolly Characters stamp set, and I thought it matched really well with the candle themed paper from the Comfort and Joy Picture My Life cards. I used the Multi Circle Windows Thin Cuts to cut the PML, and added the candles plus some star clusters and a sentiment in the spaces. I also added a few blobs of Black Diamond Stickles for a little bit of bling.
I added the thin cut overlay using some Thin 3D Foam Tape for a little bit of dimension, and my card was done!

We'd love to see your Christmas projects this week over at Heart 2 Heart

Buzzing By To Say

Welcome back to another week of challenges with Heart 2 Heart!

This week, we are encouraging you to use stencils on your project.

I grabbed out one of the new Stencil Packs with the honeycomb pattern in it, which became the basis for my bee card. I used the new Mustard Seed distress ink to sponge over the cardstock, and added this sweet little bee from the Queen Bee stamp set and Thin Cuts as well as one of the Stitched Hearts Thin Cuts. A simple strip of sunflower paper from the Bloom With Grace Paper Packet, matted with some Black Shimmer Trim was the last touch on this card, and then I matted the whole thing onto a piece of Black Cardstock

Please join us over at Heart 2 Heart to show us your stencil projects!

Beautiful Inside and Out

This week, the theme over at H2H challenges is Teeny Tiny!

This theme is open to all sorts of interpretations but I chose to use the cute new Mini Envelope Thin Cut to create a sweet card.

I cut the mini envelopes using the patterned paper from Bloom With Grace as well as Sangria cardstock. I then added some Gold Shimmer Brush splatter onto white cardstock and used that as the base of my card, to add on all the mini envelopes. I matted the card on Sangriia cardstock then a card base.

The sentiment was stamped in Sangria Ink, and is from the new Operation Smile stamp set, Every Bit of Wonderful. I thought the sentiment paired so nicely with the little envelopes!

Thanks for stoping by today and we would love to see your Teeny Tiny projects over at Heart 2 Heart!

Teepee Halloween Card

This week at Heart 2 Heart we are all about multidimensional projects.

I have been having so much fun creating Teepee Fold Cards this weekend with some of my leftover papers, as I will be teaching these on a Facebook live in a fortnight and so needed some practice!

These cards come together with three colours of cardstock, some patterned paper and some embellishment stickers.

I can't wait to make these in different sizes and play with different colour schemes and patterns! This card used Nectarine, Mint and Black cardstock paired with the Gogt Candy? paper packet and sticker sheet- isn't it adorable!

We'd love to see your 3D project over at Heart 2 Heart challenges.

Thank You Tag Card

This week we are looking for wood themed projects- anything with Wooden embellishments, woodgrain paper, or maybe wood in your photos!

I decided to use the new Bloom With Grace Wood Shapes as an accent on this card and simply tied them to the card with some twine, using a tag from the Tags and Tabs Thin Cuts. The sentiment was from the new Bloom With Grace Cardmaking stamp set, which I stamped in Sangria ink.

I added some Canary cardstock as the background, decorated form strips form the Bloom With Grace Paper Packet and the Bloom With Grace PML Cards.

We would love to see your Wood themed projects over at Heart 2 Heart challenges!

Summer Vibes in Fiji

This week at Heart 2 Heart, Anything Goes!

I thought I would share one more Summer Vibes layout before this collection isn't available anymore- and yes it is another Fiji layout. I've nearly finished my vacation album and I wish I could be travelling right now, but at least I can scrapbook my vacation memories.

I loved the wave paper and wanted to create a poolside vibe for this double page spread. The serene blue then paired with the fun icon paper really draws your eye to all the photos, and I love this scrapbook page pattern!

On the left hand side I used the Summer Vibes PML cards as well as the Summer Vibes Acrylic Shapes and the stickers from the sticker sheet. I cut the cocktail out from my Cricut using the You Are Here collection.

The right hand side uses another Summer Vibes sticker for the title, and I cut up the neon PML card to create a cute square patterned paper piece.

I can't wait for the warmer weather here in New Zealand, and I will definitely miss this amazing Summer Vibes collection. I'd love to know what your favourite collection has been so far this year!

Don't forget to join us over at Heart 2 Heart Challenges where Anything Goes.

Wonderful Waterbrushes!

One of my favourite craft tools to use is my Waterbrush!

I love to have more control over my colouring by using the CTMH Watercolour Pencils, but as you can see in this image, the pencil colouring is quite harsh with not a lot of blending.

As you can see here, as soon as we add water to the pencils it begins to soften and blend. the easiest way to do this is with a waterbrush!

Here us my waterbrushed floral accent on a card using the new Mix In Papers. It gives such a soft, smooth look and the waterbrushes come in different tips so you can have a lot of control or use it for backgrounds.

What is your favourite crafting tool? Share with us over at Heart 2 Heart challenges!

Sunny Days in Fiji

It's the middle of winter right now here in New Zealand, but it hasn't stopped me scrapbooking my Fiji holiday photos!

The new Summer Vibes collection was perfect for these photos of our seafood restaurant date night on our first evening in Fiji. I instantly loved the leaf print in this collection and wanted it to feature on my pages, and I added some extra tropical touches.

Here's the full two page layout with that gorgeous paper and some of the matching stickers.

A close up of the left page- here you can see my coloured flower that I stamped in both Lemon and Tangerine inks using the rock and roll technique, as well as the fun Chill sticker and a cute palm tree acrylic shape from the Summer Vibes collection.

The right hand page also features one of the PML cards from the Summer Vibes collection. Look at how beautiful that sunset was, and we both got given flowers to wear in our hair during the meal so I wanted to incorporate some floral elements to the page.

I absolutely loved my time in Fiji and I have been scrapping up a storm with the Summer Vibes collection, and I will be sharing some more Fiji photos over the next two weeks.

If you have some Sunny Days themed projects you've created recently, please share them with us over at Heart 2 Heart challenges this month!
