Everything ABC's Blog Hop- J

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop!

For this hop we will be featuring the letter J. This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has chosen as their J element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Linda's blog ~ Scrappy Therapy.

If you came from Angela Jackson-King ~ Krafting with Kings~  then you're on the right track!

For my "J" project, I decided to show you how to create a Joy Fold Card.

You will need:

  • One 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" piece of cardstock
  • One 3" x 8" piece of cardstock
  • Two 2 3/4" x 4" pieces of cardstock
  • One 4" x 5 1/4" piece of of cardstock or designer paper
  • One 2 3/4" x 4" piece of cardstock or designer paper
  • Additional cardstock
  • Scoring tool
  • Adhesive
  • Stamps
  • Ink

  • Score your 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" piece of cardstock at 5 1/2"

Score your 3" x 8" piece of cardstock at 4"

Adhere your 4" x 5 1/4 piece of patterned paper to the inside of the larger piece of cardstock.

Adhere your 2 3/4' x 4 piece of patterned paper to the front of the card.

Background stamp your cardstock in coordinating ink. Here I used Honey ink and cardstock. If you are in a hurry, you could use patterned paper instead of creating your own background.

Adhere your background stamped cardstock pieces to the smaller piece of cardstock.

Add adhesive to the back of this smaller piece, and attach it to the inside of the bigger card. Make sure the fold of the smaller piece is on the right hand side.

To hold the flap down, you can create a die cut or another stamped piece. I cut the house freehand using the outline from a stamp set and then discovered the house shape is available on the Cricut! You could do a flower, a sentiment, a birthday cake- the possibilities are endless based on what theme your card is.

Add some 3D foam tape to the back of your piece so that the flap can stick under it, and you are done!

The paper and polka dot vellum are from the Free To Be Me paper pack, which is only available until the end of the month. Isn't it gorgeous? To get your own pack, contact your consultant today.

I would love you to leave me a comment with any ideas you have for a Joy Fold card.
