The Important Things

I am very excited to announce that I am back on the Heart 2 Heart Design Team for 2019!

The first challenge of the year is The Important Things- focusing on what is important in my life for 2019.

There is something I definitely want to focus on in 2019, and that is spending more time in nature with my boys. I started the year off right by taking the boys camping for our New Year's Eve and New year's Day public holiday. It was their first time camping and I think they did a great job!

I cut the title on my Cricut- and it seems that my fluffy cat has been lying on my layouts while I am not looking! I added a cute banner from the Fresh Air Complements to add to the title as well.

I also used my Cricut and the Complements to add the tent and tree details to the bottom of the page.

I hope you'll join us at Heart 2 Heart for the first theme challenge of 2019, and I am very happy to be able to create with this amazing group of ladies again.

I am also linking up with the Scrap the Boys Summer challenge.

Products used:
Cardstock: Colonial White, EspressoToffee, White Daisy
Cricut Cartridges: Artistry, You Are Here
Embellishments: Fresh Air Complements, Thin 3D Foam Tape
Ink: New England Ivy

Have a Super Birthday!

I haven't had much of a chance to play with my Super Boy stamp set yet, so when I saw that the Heart 2 Heart Challenge this week was Superheroes I immediately pulled out the stamp set.

I was also inspired by the Color Dare, and used all of the colours apart from Linen and Nutmeg.

Finally, I'm linking up my card with the Anything Goes Birthday challenge over at Seize The Birthday!

I used a Juniper and Glacier Fresh Air background, and added a sentiment stamped in Juniper ink backed on Gold Glitter Card. I stamped the Super Boy and coloured him in then popped him up on 3D Foam Tape, and added some doodles and White Enamel Dots to finish off the card.

Now he's ready for my son's 6th birthday party this weekend- I can't believe how fast my boys are growing up!

Framing my memories

I love putting my photos into scrapbooks, but I also love displaying them around the house and so I have a lot of photo frames.

When I saw the cute Fresh Air frame on page 23 of the Seasonal Expressions, it inspired me to decorate one of my frames.

Here is the original frame from the SE:

And here is my take on it:

I love the simple addition of the burlap ribbon, a strip of patterned paper and the cute tree sticker and die cut.

I am entering this frame into the Heart 2 Heart challenge- Let's Be Copycats! and the Just Add Ink Just Add A Frame challenge.

Fresh Air CTMH Australasian Blog Hop

Hello and welcome aboard our June Australasian Close to My Heart Blog Hop.

If you have arrived here from Creating with Kara Davies then you are in the right place.

If you landed here by accident, no problem, please join in by following the link at the end of this post.

Today I would like to share with you a creation which features Close To My Heart’s June Featured Collection, Fresh Air.

I love the dark green of the patterned paper paired with the woodgrain paper, which is from the coordinating PML cards included in the Paper Packet. It was begging to be used with one of my favourite retired stamp sets.

The first card was made by sponging a rectangle with new England Ivy ink, then stamping the tree and sentiment. I added some burlap ribbon for visual interest and to make the rectangle anchored to the card.

This second card uses the same colours, but a different tree and sentiment. I also used the green burlap ribbon this time to draw attention to the tree.

These two cards will be very versatile to have in my stash, and I can see myself using this paper for a variety of masculine cards.

This Workshop Your Way collection can be yours for just $51.  Individual components can be ordered from your CTMH consultant.

I'd love you to leave a comment before heading off to the next stop, Doreen Watkins.

Fresh Air Father's Day card

I am really enjoying all the challenges a the moment, and I knew I wanted to play along with this week's Color Dare challenge over at Color My Heart as I had lots of Fresh Air paper scraps.

I started off with the Glacier spotted paper scrap and the card grew from there. The spots inspired me to create a spotty embossed background, and then I used a Father's Day stamp set for the sentiment.

I added some strips of extra paper and cardstock behind the sentiment to anchor it, and finished off the card with some Glacier twine.

Have you been crafting with Fresh Air? Let me know- I'd love to see your creations!
