Something Old, Something New

The first scrapbook challenge for Heart2Heart challenges this year is Something Old, Something New: Use something old in a new way or paired with something new!

I scrapbooked our Family Christmas Photo for 2014 using the old Frosted paper pack as well as some old stamp sets, and the new Yuletide Carol paper pack and Snowhaven complements.

The little sticker spots are from the new Cut Above kits- designed to go on the bottom of kiss chocolates but they work great on other projects too!

This rose from the Yuletide Carol assortment is a stunning focal point, and I have paired it with an old stamp image of a camera. The blend of the blue Frosted paper and the Yuletide Carol zip strip complements these two elements. The LOVE banner is a sticker from the Holiday Happenings My Crush assortment, which is another item you can use on your traditional layouts as well as your My Crush books.

Another Cut Above sticker has been paired with an old stamp set and a flourish from the Snowhaven complements.

Gold bling and a picture perfect stamp draw attention to the photo, which I absolutely love! It captures my boys' cheeky grins perfectly.

We would love to see how you pair old and new items in your scrapbook layouts this month!

  2. I like how you used elements from a Cut Above kit as an embellishment. I'm using the style sheets from the Base & Bling products on scrapbook pages. I don't make wearable crafts but I can still use parts of that product line. Good work! -- Cynthia
