These are My People Blog Hop

Welcome to our Blog Hop!  We will be featuring the These Are My People collection.  If you have come here from Krista's Blog, you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around.  If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda’s Blog.

This month we have 19 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month's collection and other great CTMH products on their blogs. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!

I wanted to show how I created more masculine layouts using this kit and elements. I did the exact same cutting guide measurements and layouts, but changed up the sentiments and embellishments as well as the stamping to get a slightly different look.

Here's the original design for the single page layout.

I wanted to showcase some photos of my boys looking swish after their haircuts, so I left out the flowers, changed up the sentiment a bit and stamped their names onto the ampersand sticker using a small alpha stamp set.

I used the watercolour paints to splatter the background, and dovetailed some strips to put behind the sticker instead of using a flower.

Instead of flowers here, I added a heart from the sticker sheet and overlaid it with some of the acrylic hearts from the kit.

Here is the two page spread original layout.

As you can see, I kept the fabulous green plaid triangles and still kept some of the floral elements and the zip strip. My main change was to use more of the stickers and I also used a green splatter instead of pink, and added a PML card from the Seas The Day collection for the journalling.

The colour behind the title is actually a stamp from the set, which makes an awesome background!

Since this layout was of my partner's birthday, I used a sentiment from the Birthday Banner stamp set.

Now "Hop" on over to Kathy's Blog to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas!
