So Grateful

I've been so thankful for a lot of things today- and so it was the perfect time to make a card inspired by the CASology prompt!

I used a floral Base and Shade stamp set to achieve this faux watercolour floral image and then stamped the sentiment in a dark green ink. I then mated it onto a white card base and I was done- nice and simple but effective.

Creating with Build-A-Picnic

Those who know me know that I love wine- it's probably my third hobby after theatre shows and crafting!

When I saw the Build-A-Picnic stamp set, I had to have it just for the adorable wine bottle and wine glass stamp, but the whole set is adorable.

I am sharing two cards using this stamp set today.

The first card was at the request of my friend, who wanted a male retirement card with psychedelic colours and wine theme. Sounds rather random but I was able to make it work!

I sponged the background of the card and matted it with some Willow paper, and then added a Cricut stripe overlay over the sponging. I then added a small sentiment and the wine themed stamps.

I am entering this card in the Color Dare challenge and the H2H anything goes challenge.

My second card was more minimalistic, focusing on the sweet picnic basket and food. I added a simple embossed cloud panel and a strip of striped paper to break up the white but still keep this CAS. I am entering this second card in the CASology Cloud challenge.

I love the versatility of this stamp set and I can't wait to use it for my summer picnic pages!

Thinking of You- Country Kindness

Today I'm sharing a card that combines two of my favourite challenge blogs- CASology and Color Throwdown!

I put together this quick card using an aqua piece of card layered on black, with the sentiment and the rooster and pig also stamped in black. I felt like it needed a more rustic feel to it, so I added some twine as the only embellishment.

I really love the simplicity of these colours together, and the farm stamps add some whimsy- I plan to send this to my friend in the country so I'm sure she'll appreciate the animal stamps!

Thank You Watercolour Card

I have been super busy crafting with all my new goodies, but I thought I wold pop in and show you a simple watercolour card I created as part of my upcoming Watercolour Wonder class in September. (I know, I like to plan ahead!)

I thought this would be a great chance to play along with the CASology cue card this week.

To create this card, I simply painted a green wash on some watercolour paper and let it dry. I then stamped two hearts and a sentiment from the Happy Heart stamp set in Archival Black ink.

Simple but effective in my opinion!

Big Wishes!

As a mother of boys, I love creating fun cards for younger males.

This week's card combined the 30day marker challenge with CASology and Seize The Birthday.

I love this little dinosaur, he was fun to colour and I added some watercolour splashes to the card in the same tones.

I added a chevron strip on top of a mint piece of paper, then stamped the sentiment and I was done!

This card will be stomping its way to my nephew who is celebrating his birthday in a couple of weeks.

Featured Product- Mother's Day themed stamp sets

Hello and welcome to our CTMH Featured Products Blog Hop. This week our featured product is Mother's Day stamp sets. I am linking this card up with CASology's cue card of the week Mom,or Mum as we spell it here in New Zealand!

If you have just joined us you can start here and continue on, as this is a circular hop or if you get lost along the way you can start at the beginning with Catherine as she has the complete list. If you came here from Catherine's Blog you are in the right place. Now on to my project:

I had to make a Mother's Day card, and I wanted something feminine and dainty. I began by inking up one of my embossing folders with Sorbet ink and running it through my Cuttlbug to create a textured background.

The Charlotte paper packet is so elegant, and so I used a strip of that down the side of my card. I added this two toned stamped flower from Blossoming Expressions and fussy cut it to my card. Some gold sequins were also added to the page.

My sentiment is from the Cricut Artfully Sent collection stamp set, which has an amazing set of sentiments. I thought this sentiment went well with the classy look of this card. I stamped it in black ink, and added some gold ribbon and sequins.

Thank you for checking out my project. If you would like to purchase our featured product of the week or any additional supplies you can buy them here. If you enjoyed my project please comment below as we love feedback! Next on our blog hop is Kim. Make sure to check out her amazing work featuring this same product.

See you on Wednesday 20th April as we will be featuring the Cricut Artistry cartridge! Have a great day!

A Pink Hello

This week I am joining in with CASology again for their Pink challenge!

I remembered that I had some watercolour strips I have been practicing with, so this was a good time to turn them into a card.

I clear embossed some floral images on watercolour paper and then did a watercolour wash over them in shades of pink, then cut the piece into even strips. I adhered these to my card and then added a sentiment banner.

The sentiment looks painted to me too, even though it is a stamp, so I thought it fitted the look of the card.

Now I have a quick pink card that I can use for a variety of reasons.

Thanks for stopping by!

Washi-ing you a Merry Christmas!

I know it is only April, but I have a very meager stash of Christmas cards and so it is always a good idea to play along with Merry Monday to get my Christmas cards sent out. I am also playing along with a colour challenge, sketch challenge and a washi challenge!

Here is my finished card, made using some mini Christmas tree tags. I added washi behind one of the trees, and stamped a sentiment in New England Ivy on some patterned Pear paper.

The green triangles added a little bit of bling, but I wanted to keep this card simple to make the sentiment and washi tree stand out.

I am now back into a Christmas card mood, and so I look forward to creating some more cards with a Christmas theme in the coming weeks!

Love Ya Silly

Being a mother of boys, sometimes it is hard to find stamp sets that will appeal to them. When the Lova Ya Silly stamp set was released, it instantly became one of my favourites and it is perfect for the cue word this week at CASology.

I stamped the monsters in three different colours then matted with a simple green frame, and stamped the 'love you silly' sentiment in green to match.

This card is perfect for my boys, it fits their personalities so well!

So Many Smiles- and so many circles!

I am in love with the new So Many Smiles stamp set with all of the fun circles.

When I saw the CASology challenge for this week it was the perfect excuse to ink it up and get creating! I am also entering this in the Color Dare challenge, Simon Says No Patterned Paper challenge and Just Add Ink- Favourite Three Colours.

The circles create a great border, and all else that is needed is a simple stamped sentiment.

I love the three colours together- Poppy is my new most-used colour, and Cocoa and Honey are my two old favourites. I can see this combo being used lots in the future.

Have You Heard- SOTM Card

This week;s theme at CASology is a great one- News!

The CASology team has some great news, as one of the members just had a baby boy! With that in mind, I created this masculine card with the April Stamp Of The Month, Typed Note. I haven't played along in a while, but with this theme and a new stamp set that fit the brief, plus some crafting time up my sleeve, I was happy to create a card.

This card was so fun to put together. I love the old typewriter, and the sentiment worked perfectly with the theme. The notepad paper was cut using the Cricut and I stamped the typewriter and sentiment directly onto the cardstock. I added some patterned paper behind it in blue to go with the baby boy theme, and I was done!

Thanks for stopping by, I would love for you to leave a comment. Don't forget to check out my Artbooking in April series too!

Shh, this is a sneak peek of some of the new items available on Monday but you get to see them early- the Hopscotch paper back and this adorable Love Ya Silly stamp set. I saw the sentiment and had to create a card for this week's theme.

Aren't the monsters adorable! I think this stamp set is going to get a lot of use.

CASology- Flutter

This week, the CASology challenge was Flutter, and I knew I wanted to do a pretty butterfly card. I am not usually into butterflies, but this was the perfect chance to make something girly!

I only used three colours and three layers, in keeping with the CASology rule of three, but I am really pleased with how it turned out.

The butterfly was a glitter paper with a black cardstock overlay, and it looks so stunning in person.

I have a feeling I will be making more of these cards, glitter paper is my new obsession!
