Mother's Day-Stitched Together

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there!

I love the tongue in cheek sentiments of the new Mother stamp set, Amazing Mother, and so I had to use one on my Mother's Day card!

I took inspiration from this sketch to create my Mother's Day card, as well as the Angel Mother challenge over at Heart 2 Heart..

I love the colour combination of this card- the pretty patterned papers in the Stitched Together collection made it easy to create a fun, floral look with the cheeky sentiment! I added some red gems and red shimmer trim from my stash, as well as fussy cutting a flower from the Stitched Together PML cards.

I'd love for you to join us over at H2H challenges this week to show us your Mother themed projects.

Eclipse Technique for my Mum

Mother's Day was a couple of weeks ago, but I have only just got around to sharing a card I made for my mother.

I have been having lots of fun with the Eclipse technique, and I decied to try out this for the word 'mum' on the front of my card.

I first did some random stamping on a piece of white cardstock to create the floral pattern, then I cut out the letters. I framed the floral stamped cardstock on Pixie cardstock, then popped the letters up using 3D Foam Tape. You want to use the thick foam to get a raised effect,

You can see how the letters stand out and yet blend into the floral pattern at the same time. This is such a beautiful technique and I can't wait to try it out again.

I'm sharing this card with one of my favourite challenge blogs- Heart 2 Heart Challenges, for their Mother's Day theme.

Featured Product- Mother's Day themed stamp sets

Hello and welcome to our CTMH Featured Products Blog Hop. This week our featured product is Mother's Day stamp sets. I am linking this card up with CASology's cue card of the week Mom,or Mum as we spell it here in New Zealand!

If you have just joined us you can start here and continue on, as this is a circular hop or if you get lost along the way you can start at the beginning with Catherine as she has the complete list. If you came here from Catherine's Blog you are in the right place. Now on to my project:

I had to make a Mother's Day card, and I wanted something feminine and dainty. I began by inking up one of my embossing folders with Sorbet ink and running it through my Cuttlbug to create a textured background.

The Charlotte paper packet is so elegant, and so I used a strip of that down the side of my card. I added this two toned stamped flower from Blossoming Expressions and fussy cut it to my card. Some gold sequins were also added to the page.

My sentiment is from the Cricut Artfully Sent collection stamp set, which has an amazing set of sentiments. I thought this sentiment went well with the classy look of this card. I stamped it in black ink, and added some gold ribbon and sequins.

Thank you for checking out my project. If you would like to purchase our featured product of the week or any additional supplies you can buy them here. If you enjoyed my project please comment below as we love feedback! Next on our blog hop is Kim. Make sure to check out her amazing work featuring this same product.

See you on Wednesday 20th April as we will be featuring the Cricut Artistry cartridge! Have a great day!

Four Flowers for Mum

This week at Heart 2 Heart Challenges we are looking for the number 4! Four photos, four embellishments, the number 4- how you interpret this is up to you!

I decided to create a card using four colours and four flowers for Mother's Day.

The flowers on the bottom were cut from the Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge, and the top flowers are from the Springtime Wishes stamp set. I also added four flamingo dots, one for the centre of each flower.

This card features four colours- Pixie, Pomegranate, Pear and White Daisy. The Pear paper is from the Penelope Paper Packet, which is a spring themed packet but goes well with this theme.

Lastlyt, I used the sentiment from My Mother, which I love as there is the NZ spelling available as well as the US spelling.

How will you interpret this week's challenge? We would love for you to join us!

ABC Blog Hop- R

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop!

For this hop we will be featuring the letter R. This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has chosen as their R element will be featured in their post.

If you came from Catherine then you're on the right track!

I decided to make a Retro card for my mum using Ruby ink and cardstock.

I added some retro stickers from a Base and Bling style sheet, and stamped my own sentiment. The woman's silhouette is from an old stamp set, and I used the Cut Above Thank You Card Kit as the base of this project,

Mother's Day Swing Card

Mother's Day is coming up, and so today I have a sweet and simple card to share with you featuring the Artfully Sent cartridge and the new Blossom paper pack. It also ties in perfectly with the theme this week at Heart 2 Heart Challenges of Mum's the Word!

I cut the card base in Lagoon ink at 7” Real Dial Size off using Scene card design on page 37 of the Cricut Artfully Sent collection and folded as per score lines. I also cut the inner part of the card using the Blossom paper at 7".

Swing cards are so much fun, and the Artfully Sent cartridge makes it easy!

I placed some Smoothie cardstock under the cut out sentiment, and I also put some Pear cardstock under the floral focal design.

I also cut a scallop out of Lagoon cardstock using a built in Cricut shape at 2.25" Read Dial Size to cover the Pear cardstock on the inside.

Have you created something for your mum or have something you have been keeping secret? Share it with us at H2H
