A Christmas Angel

After tidying up my craft room, I realised I have far too much Christmas paper. Thank goodness that the Merry Monday Christmas card challenge is still going strong!

I don't have a lot of angel stuff, but I did find a sticker that I could layer over some final strips of one of my favourite Christmas paper packets.



I kept the card quite muted with just a touch of bling and a simple stamped sentiment.

I'm looking forward to getting back into these Christmas card challenges so that I can have a stash of them come December!

A Masculine Merry Monday

The challenge at Merry Monday is a great one this week- create a masculine Christmas card!

I found a die cut stag in the Oh Deer complements and built the card from there, using brown neutrals, woodgrain embossed Kraft cardstock and some Gold Foil Tape.



The sentiment was stamped in Desert Sand ink to keep the colour scheme monochromatic, and I finished off the card by adding some cream and gold sequins.

Pink and Blue Presents

I love using traditional colours on my Christmas cards, but this week's Merry Monday challenge was a colour combo of light blue, dark blue and pink. Paired with the Between The Folds challenge of Glitter and Bling, I set to work to create a Christmas card out of my comfort zone!

I started off by placing this cute word paper as the background of my card, and I then layered up some Sapphire card, Aqua Shimmer Trim, Flamingo Dots and a sticker towards the bottom of the card. The sentiment was stamped onto the frame sticker using a retired Christmas set and Sapphire ink.



To create the presents, I ran some of the Sapphire card through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder, then cut three squares. these were topped off with some Pink Twine and a Navy satin bow.

I quite like the end result- what do you think?

I used the cute wreath paper for my card background, and one of the PML cards included in the paper packet for the sentiment backgreound. This sentiment is from the Verry Merry stamp set, which I stamped in Willow ink, and I added some of the Cranberry Fundamental Complements for a bit of bling.

I am also entering this card into the Merry Monday Christmas challenge as I always love wreaths, bows and glitter on my door come December.

V is for Very Merry

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop!

I am using the Very Merry stamp set for my project today, which I am also pairing with the current Merry Monday challenge.

I cut some green plaid paper from my stash into four strips, and placed them on my card. I then added some Cranberry glitter stars and shimmer trim.

The scallop was cut from my Cricut using Topiary and Cranberry cardstock, and I stamped 'Joy' using White Daisy Pigment Ink, which I then set using clear embossing powder.

Christmas Twine

Today I am joining in with two challenges- Between The Folds and Merry Monday, to create a Christmas card with the twine tree as the standout feature!

I added four panels of an old Winter paper packet to my card, then placed a watercoloured Santa (with a sack) and some presents on the card, along with a stamped sentiment.



I added some twine threaded through the tree to replicate a string of lights.

I am still working on my colouring- I just realised Santa's moustache should be white! luckily I have signed up for a class with a local well-known artist so be prepared to see my watercolouring improve in the next few months!

Washi-ing you a Merry Christmas!

I know it is only April, but I have a very meager stash of Christmas cards and so it is always a good idea to play along with Merry Monday to get my Christmas cards sent out. I am also playing along with a colour challenge, sketch challenge and a washi challenge!

Here is my finished card, made using some mini Christmas tree tags. I added washi behind one of the trees, and stamped a sentiment in New England Ivy on some patterned Pear paper.



The green triangles added a little bit of bling, but I wanted to keep this card simple to make the sentiment and washi tree stand out.

I am now back into a Christmas card mood, and so I look forward to creating some more cards with a Christmas theme in the coming weeks!

Underneath the Mistletoe

I have so many Christmas die cuts and embellishments lying around, and so I love the Merry Monday challenges so that I can use up my stash. I am also joining in this week with the Curtain Call challenge!

I instantly remembered some gingerbread people die cuts I had, but was struggling to put them on the card. Then I thought it would be cute if they were underneath the mistletoe and this card was created!



The mistletoe base was cut from my Cricut then sponged, and I added some Red Enamel Gems. Then I stamped a simple sentiment at the bottom of the card and I have ended up with a cute gingerbread couple card, perfect for my newlywed friends this Christmas.

Christmas Lights card with Twinkle

The prompt at Merry Monday was just perfect for this stamp set that has been sitting on my desk all month as I have been using it constantly! I also used the colours from this week's Color Dare as I thought they looked quite festive together.

I double matted the card for visual contrast, and had fun stamping the Ruby and Slate Christmas lights. I added a trip of white glitter across the scalloped border, and stamped the sentiment on Ruby cardstock with Slate ink.



The finished card looks so cheery and festive- it almost makes me want to put up my Christmas lights already!

Merry Christ-Moose!

I am getting into the swing of my Christmas cards early, as I will be having surgery early next month and so I need to be prepared for Christmas before then. Playing along with challenges helps me to get my cards done quickly, and so today I have combined the Merry Monday and Just Add Ink challenges.

I do not have any moose stamps, but I found an adorable moose banner in my Cricut files, and the card quickly came together in my mind.



I paired this with the tree paper from the White Pines paper packet, and added a sentiment from Holly Jolly Christmas stamped in Fern ink. The sketch also inspired me to add some Fern Twine to the card. I popped the moose banner up on 3D Foam Tape and I was done!

Have a Kiwi Christmas!

I wanted to create a uniquely New Zealand Christmas card this week, and this card happened accidentally when I was playing around with the 3 Birds on Parade cartridge. I cut the bird in brown and then thought it looked like a Kiwi (New Zealand's national bird) and the idea grew from there!



I am playing along with Merry Monday's colour challenge of Light Green, Dark Green and Red.

Midwinter Christmas Crafting- Candy Cane Christmas Card

I haven't been able to participate in Merry Monday for a while, but this week's Red and White challenge was exactly what I needed to be inspired.

I found some scraps of the retired Sparkle and Shine paper, which reminds me of candy canes, and the idea for the card blossomed from there as I love red and white candy canes!



This card came together exactly how I planned, and then a stamped sentiment was all I felt it needed to bring my idea together. The result is a candy cane inspired card that has made me get my cardmaking mojo back.

Merry Merry Wreath

My new favourite stamp set is an adorable wreath that you can step by step layer, as well as add accents depending on the season and occasion.

When I saw the Merry Monday challenge, I used this wreath paired with the browns, tans and creams as well as some woodgrain washi to create a rustic Christmas card.



The wreath was stamped with Desert Sand and Chocolate, and the banner was stamped on Bamboo cardstock with Chocolate Ink. The woodgrain washi adds some rustic appeal, and the little bird was given some extra dimension with 3D Foam Tape and a coating of liquid glass.

This wreath has been inked up a number of times already, and I can't wait to try a candy cane wreath next!

Spots and Stripes

I am using up my Christmas goodies after participating in Stash Bash with Jennifer Wilson, and the Merry Monday challenge this week was perfect!

I had some double sided paper that was stripes on one side, and spots on the other. I challenge myself every now and then to make a card without stamping, so I simply added a sentiment sticker and a candy cane die cut popped up on 3D Foam Tape.



So quick and easy, but definitely making a dent in my stash of Christmas scrapbook supplies!
