14 Days of Love- Day 14

For my D, I wanted to show you some dry embossing using my Cuttlebug and the Close To My heart embossing folders. The hearts embossing folder is new in the Seasonal Expressions, and is perfect for today- Happy Valentines Day!

I used the hearts embossing folder on White cardstock- simply place the piece you wish to emboss in the folder, then run it through your machine.



I used this as the base of a Valentines Day card for my husband. White, brown and gold make this card masculine but the hearts still provide a love feel to the card.



I edged the dry embossed background with gold shimmer trim, and stamped a sentiment onto a tag. I used some washi to thread through the tag, and dipped the tag in some glue and then gold glitter. This card doesn't need much, as the dry embossed background provides a great detail.

14 Days of Love- Day 13

Today I am sharing a pop up card created from the Artfully sent cartridge.

The outside of the card is cut for you, and I love this scalloped edge. I added some stamping, glitter embellishments and a sentiment to the front of the card.

 

When the card opens up, there is a pop up heart feature as well an arrow and heart that are cut from the cartridge. Doesn't that scalloped edge look pretty?

 

This is a great anniversary, wedding or engagement card, and the cartridge does most of the work for you!

14 Days of Love- Day 12

Each day for 14 days I will be bringing you a project inspired by love!

Today I am sharing a quick and easy Valentines decor idea using the Artiste cartridge. 

The first thing to do is cut the Accent 2 scalloped heart at 5.75" from page 51 of the Artiste cartridge handbook using Ruby cardstock. You will be using the outer layer as your heart- put the inner side away to use on another project if wished. 

You will then need to cut 16 flowers at 3" using yellow Accent 2 on page 54 of the Artiste cartridge handbook. 15 flowers should fit on the finished wreath, but cut one extra just in case!

Use your quilling tool or roll each flower by hand, then adhere to the heart frame using Liquid Glass.

Loop the top of the wreath with a strip of Black Striped Twill Ribbon and hang on your wall!



You could make these bigger or do a few different sized ones to display a collection, or these would also be great as a teacher or neighbour gift.

14 Days of Love- Day 11

Each day for 14 days I will be bringing you a project inspired by love!

I always love getting mail that isn't a bill, so when I saw the adorable mailbox project in the Artiste booklet, I knew I had to create a love letter mailbox to put some sweet love notes inside. 

This mailbox was cut using paper for the main part, and then cardstock accents. 

I love the flag that is included with this cut out project- I decorated it by stamping a sentiment from the Lifting Spirits stamp set and attaching it to the mailbox with a brad.

The flag can move up and down, so now my boys and husband know when I have put a note inside the mailbox! I plan to use this for encouraging notes, to let the boys know of some family fun nights and also to express my feelings as I can write things better than vocalising them.

Each day for 14 days I will be bringing you a project inspired by love!

Today's Love card is inspired by Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #94.

I used some strips of the Heartstrings paper pack as well as some shimmer trim and washi tape to create the background of this card. The sentiment was simply stamped on top.



The little heart was cut from the Cricut and adhered using EZ Dots.

This is a great card to use up strips of paper you have lying around, and also a fun way to create a card for any theme. Use different strips of patterned paper to create birthday, Halloween or Christmas themed cards- the possibilities are endless!

14 Days of Love- Day 9

Today's theme is all about Love, the CTMH Way, where I share the love of my favorite CTMH product with Heart 2 Heart Challenges,

I love the fact that the Cricut cartridges give you endless possibilities, especially the Artbooking Cartridge with pre-made layouts. These are so quick and handy for producing layouts that look amazing, yet require only a little bit of effort.


I celebrated my seventh wedding anniversary over the weekend, and so I used this double page layout to make an overview of each anniversary. I precut everything, ready to put photos in.

Once I had celebrated with my husband, all I needed to do was add the photos and some journalling, and I was done!


The left hand side has dates, and I used some wooden accents. Aren't those lovebirds cute?


The left features a photo from the weekend, backed with some paper and with a simple flower embellishment. The Artbooking pages are so detailed that you don't need to add many embellishments or extra details.

Today I would like to share a project inspired by Stampin' Nerd- a pull-out gift card box! Please click here for a full tutorial as she explains it better than I can.

 

The instructions give you this adorable box with a gift card slot, so that you can box up a gift card for a Valentines gift, wedding anniversary gift, or a date night voucher. here I have used a mall gift card for our date night gift so that we can use it to see a movie together than get a coffee at our local shopping centre.

I made a tag to attach to the box using one of my favourite stamp sets and some masking.

I attached it to the box using some ribbon and embellishment, and now it is ready to be given to my husband for a special and unexpected date night!

14 Days of Love- Day 7

Each day for 14 days I will be bringing you a project inspired by love!

Today's feature is the fantastic Heartstrings WOTG Cardmaking Kit. This kit features everything you need (apart from inks and blocks) to create 15 stunning love themed cards. Here is the kit when made according to the instructions.

I changed things up a bit- this is the beauty of the kits. You get  a lot of product and some instructions, but you are free to change things up.

 

The first card I changed by using silver shimmer trim instead of the twine, and using a silver heart puffy instead of a red one.

This second card I loved except for the sentiment, so all I did was change that for another stamp included in the card kit.

For the last card, I stayed true to the design and simply changed the silver puffy for a red one.

Today is a simple card featuring one of the new stamp sets in the Seasonal Expressions.

I used some leftover heart cut outs from my Cricut projects and popped them up on foam tape. The circle backgrounds are from my favourite stamp set in the Seasonal Expressions catalogue, stamped in three different colours. I added a sentiment from the January SOTM and some flamingo dots placed on the card was all the bling I needed.

I really like this card, it turned out differently from what I had planned but I think it is a new favourite technique for me and I can see myself using this idea for birthdays, anniversary cards and thank yous and popping different shapes on top of the circles.

This card is the corresponding Card Sleeve to match the pocket sleeve I shared with you yesterday. Isn't it great to have a card to match a gift card holder?

 

I was inspired by Close To My Heart's Instagram #colorcrush challenge to use Gold and Silver together on a card. 

I backed the cut outs with Heartstrings paper, and added silver and gold shimmer trim, then all I needed was a fussy cut stamped sentiment, as these cards do all the work for you!

14 Days of Love- Day 4

Each day for 14 days I will be bringing you a project inspired by love!

Today's project is creating used the Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge. When I first saw this cartridge I was excited about making pop up cards, but I have only just started having a play with the other options available in this cartridge.

One of the options is a pocket card sleeve- perfect for sliding in gift cards, tags or even adding hidden journalling to your layouts. I cut this sleeve as it is perfect for a Valentines gift card.

I cut the corresponding pocket card and mounted it on Whisper cardstock, leaving the large heart free. Then I was able to slip a gift card behind it and stamp the exposed tab with a Just For You sentiment.

I rounded the edges of the tab and slipped it inside the sleeve. The gift card is now hidden to provide an element of surprise when the recipient pulls out the inner tab.

14 Days of Love- Day 3

Each day for 14 days I will be bringing you a project inspired by love!

I like having some themed sweets on my bench during Valentines week, and needed something to put them in that was going to be both cute and functional.

I cut out this basket using the Artiste Cricut cartridge- one of my favourite cartridges to use.

It was very easy to assemble using some liquid glass and the bone folder.

I decided to decorate the basket by using some of the new twine and a new stamp set from the Seasonal Expressions catalogue. I also used some spare hearts cut from the Artfully sent cartridge that were spare from tomorrow's project.

 

Now it is ready to be filled with chocolates or other Valentines treats- perfect for leaving on a desk for someone to find or having on your bench for people to help themselves to a chocolate.

14 Days of Love- Day 2

Each day for 14 days I will be bringing you a project inspired by love!

You may be gift wrapping a present for a wedding, anniversary or Valentines Day, and want to add some homemade crafting to the packaging. Gift tags are a great way to add that special touch!

I cut three tags in Desert Sand cardstock using the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge. 

This tag uses the January SOTM for the arrows, and the new Happy to Be Friends stamp set for the sentiment. I stamped everything in Ruby ink and used a piece of Heartstrings paper behind the heart cutout.

This one uses some more hearts, this time cut from the Artfully Sent cartridge using Pixie cardstock. I stamped this sentiment from the Happy Birds stamp set, masking off the word "lovely" to make the word love and stamping it three times in Pixie ink.

This last one also uses the January SOTM xoxo stamped in Chocolate ink. I used some Bronze Shimmer Trim behind the heart, and used the cut out part of the heart sponged with Chocolate ink, popped up on Foam Tape and then embellished with a button from a retired Mini Medley accents and some Metallic Bakers Twine.
