Lovely Layers CTMH Technique Blog Hop

I had some leftover pieces from my Heart Happy Paper Packet, and so I decided to use all these pieces to create a layered 12x12 scrapbook layout.

I started off with a base of Mint cardstock, and then added a few layers of different sized scraps of the patterned paper to form a cluster around the central focal point of the photo.


The great thing about the CTMH Paper Pack as they are deigned to work together, so all my scraps can get used up! I also added some interest by fussy cutting some of the cut-outs on the cut-out sheet



I did dovetail some of the bigger strips of paper so that the lines weren't as hard, and added a few more flowers for cohesion.

Favourite Recipe

This week's theme at Heart 2 Heart is Favorite Recipe!



This may involve food, your favourite sketch 'recipe' or something else entirely- for me my mind immediately went to my food related stamp sets as well as one of my favourite card sketches from the Make It From Your Heart Volume 1 book.

I had my Heart Happy kit sitting on my desk, and this seemed like the perfect combination to go with my stamp set. Off I went. following my sketch recipe, until I had this card.



I love pink and red together- do you use this colour combination too?

But I didn't stop there- I got inspired to make two more cards using this adorable set as well as two other sketches from the same book.

This card is more bold to my eye, but sill uses the same subtle paper patterns to mix in lots of variety for colour and interest. Plus, the sentiment cracks me up! My nine year old son was very confused as to why I was cutting out a cheese grater- but the end result is super fun.



Lastly, I decided to make a non-love themed card using the adorable polka dot paper. The rolling pin was perfect for the larger square, but you could easily use a large sentiment instead.



I had so much fun making these cards, and a mix of old and new product certainly gets my creativity going! I encourage you to try mixing old with new, and finding a favourite sketch recipe that you can use over and over again.

The Heart Happy Paper Packet features an awesome cut apart sheet, and the glasses embellishment sparked this page idea for me since my partner was wearing his aviator sunglasses for a Top Gun themed dress up party.

I used a classic grid design so that I could showcase as many of the papers as possible- I love how well they all work together.



Here's a close up of the embellishment that gave me the idea for this layout- isn't it cute?



I used a lot of the paper patterns to add interest to the layout, but I couldn't resist stamping this xoxo on one of the papers using the January Stamp of the Month.

Tag, You're It! CTMH Technique Blog Hop

I had some leftover tags I had cut on my Cricut from my Christmas projects, and I wanted to use some of them on cards. I went with the green ribbon that was already attached to the tag, and then happened to place it next to one of these flowers from my Magnolia Frame Kit- and this card was born!


I added the 3D flower to the tag, which I random stamped with small love hearts and the sentiment, both from the January Stamp of the Month. I then backed the card with some of the Heart Happy Paper Packet, and now I have a sweet card to celebrate love.

Sweet Memories

Have I told you all how excited I am about the new Heart Happy Paper Packet? It defenitely makes my heart happy!

 I really loved the new Sketches in Thyme challenge and so I decided to give it a go using this paper packet.



And here's what I created!



I used the LOVE cut out sheet for my bold title, and then added the little sweet memories pennant by masking and stamping two stamp sets to combine the words.



The stamped sentiment inspired me to use the sweet cut outs, and I also used the heart paper as I thought it went really well with our Snapchat filter photo on the right!



Lastly, I added a hexagon overlay across the back of the photos rather than singular hexagons, as I just love this Cricut cut.
