Dress Up Details

One thing about me is that I love costume parties- they are my chance to explore a completely new character and create a fabulous outfit!

Recently I was invited to a 40th birthday where the theme was Activewear. It instantly made me think of Kath and Kel from the Australian TV show Kath and Kim, where the couple get fit and healthy together in their activewear. I knew I had to recreate this look and so off we went to the party dressed up as this couple.

I scrapbooked my two favourite photos of us from the evening- the "look at me" is one of Kath's sayings and I embraced her whole character, even copying her walk and holding handweights.

I used bright colours as well, since our outfits were pretty colourful!

This layout used lots of retired bits and pieces that I had been stockpiling, as I am definitely trying to shrink my craft stash (so that I can buy new craft things of course!) and I found the glitter stickers and a glitter heart in the perfect colours to complement the bright pink.

I was inspired by this sketch at Sketches In Thyme.

I also created some elements based on this mood board over at the Color Dare challenge. I used hearts, the colours and the little birdie sticker to create the vibe of this mood board in my layout. Even my washi tape strips have little hearts on them!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog- I hope to see you again!

Buddies Scrapbook Layout

I've been participating in a 30 page challenge this year, and so it has really motivated me to get my photos off my computer and into albums!

My youngest son has a real bond with our cat Chester- they are nearly the same size and quite inseparable. I love the sweet ways that Chester will curl up to him no matter what he is doing.

I had to make a scrapbook layout to show their special bond, using various hues of blues and some cute embellishments.

I like the subtle texture of the white background paper, and the cute Besties tab that was part of a cut out sheet. I also added some navy enamel dots.

I cut the title from my Cricut, and embellished with a small crown sticker, some more enamel dots and a stamped line of hearts.

I must remember how much I love monochromatic pages and do them more often in the future!

I'm linking this page up with the Scrap The Boys challenge.

Sweet Memories

Have I told you all how excited I am about the new Heart Happy Paper Packet? It defenitely makes my heart happy!

I really loved the new Sketches in Thyme challenge and so I decided to give it a go using this paper packet.

And here's what I created!

I used the LOVE cut out sheet for my bold title, and then added the little sweet memories pennant by masking and stamping two stamp sets to combine the words.

The stamped sentiment inspired me to use the sweet cut outs, and I also used the heart paper as I thought it went really well with our Snapchat filter photo on the right!

Lastly, I added a hexagon overlay across the back of the photos rather than singular hexagons, as I just love this Cricut cut.

I am such a big fan of these colours together- are you?

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will come back to see some other projects I have made using this paper packet!

Family fun at Ferrymead

Recently, a lot of the primary school teachers here in New Zealand have been on strike to negotiate a fair wage. This means I get the boys at home during the day, which works out rather well when I'm not at work!

Luckily, the last teacher only day was on a day where Ferrymead Heritage Park was letting children in for free with an adult. We had a great afternoon looking at the old fire engines, doing olden day schoolwork, and I even had a go on the fairground rides.

I love the touch that shimmer trim gives to this clean layout, and journalling spots are always handy for adding in the details.

I'm glad I still fit in the merry-go-round rides!

I tried to keep the circle theme going throughout the layout, so as well as the circular patterned paper I added this circle sticker.

I used the Sketches in Thyme sketch for this layout- they've been giving me some great inspiration lately!

Floss like a Boss

Has anyone else got Fortnite obsessed children in their household? My two boys don't really play the game but they have all the dance moves down pat, including The Floss. I had my friend make some t-shirts for them featuring this trend, and they both wanted to wear them everywhere.

I have so many old papers lying around that I really have to use them up, and I magically pulled out three CTMH cardstocks that matched perfectly with the cog paper and so a layout was born!

I was particularly thrilled to see this Like A Boss speech bubble embellishment, and I stamped the word FLOSS using Pear ink and an old CTMH alphabet stamp set.

I was inspired by the Sketches in Thyme sketch as well as the Lots of Colour theme over at Use Your Stuff. I'm also sharing this with the cuteness overload theme over at Heart 2 Heart challenges.

Have you scrapbooked anything gaming related? I would love to see it!
