Oh What Fun Featured Paper Blog Hop

Welcome to our Featured Paper Blog Hop! We will be showcasing items from our Oh What Fun Paper Pack with various projects created by talented Close to my Heart  Consultants.

If you are visiting from Shirley’s blog then you are on the right track, if not please start at the beginning with our hostess Carol

The Oh What Fun paper Packet is Christmas themed but has some amazing pinks and blues- perfect for scrapbooking kids or the young at heart!

However, I wanted to showcase some other ways to use this collection as not everyone celebrates Christmas with children or prefers non-traditional colours.

The pinks and blues were perfect for my photos celebrating Mother's Day this year. I made use of the Zip Strips and PML card sheet as well as featuring the coordinating cardstock colours for this single page layout.

I used my Cricut to cut the title and the flowers to add some extra layering and dimension to the layout and then added some scalloped borders from our thin cuts.

Oh What Fun CTMH Australasian Blog Hop

Hello and welcome aboard our Oh What Fun Australasian Close to My Heart Blog Hop.

If you have arrived here from Doris then you are in the right place.

If you landed here by accident, no problem, please join in by following the link at the end of this post.

Today I would like to share with you a creation which features Close To My Heart’s December Featured collection, Oh What Fun!

This bold and bright collection is perfect for the holidays.

I love the striped paper in this collection, and wanted to use it to create a fun Christmas card. I trimmed the paper so that the more traditional green featured, and also used the zip strip and the thin striped paper.

The December was stamped in Clover ink and mounted on the Raspberry cardstock.

I loved the little Santa and I discovered that the Santa face from the Oh What Fun Felt Shapes layered perfectly with the thin cuts! This added some extra dimension to the card.

I also decided to use the striped paper in a non-Christmas themed way, and created this birthday card using the It's Your Day Thin Cuts.

I added some shimmer to the candles using the Sugarplum Shimmer Brush and cut the thin cut twice so that I could use a lighter colour for the sentiment but have the frame and candles in a darker colour.

If you do not have a consultant please contact me or place an order here.

I'd love you to leave a comment before heading off to the next stop, Doreen Watkins.

December SOTM Blog Hop - Candy Cane Alphabet

Welcome to our December Blog Hop!  If you came here from Melissa's blog, you're on the right track, and as this blog hop is a big circle I hope you'll enjoy browsing all the ideas we have for you today.

We will be featuring December's Stamp of the Month, which is this adorable Candy Cane Alphabet.

This December will be the third year that our Elf on the Shelf makes his appearance, but I have only just got round to finishing off our 2016 Christmas album, which is when he arrived. I wanted to do a layout explaining the Elf on the Shelf just in case he gets to visit multiple generations (I'm a plan ahead scrapbooker)!

The cheeky side of the Elf on the Shelf meant that I wanted to use our Oh What Fun paper range for that festive and fun look. The bright blues and greens work well with the story of Ralph, and I used the matching scrapbook stamp set to stamp the Oh What Fun bubble.

I stamped the title in Lagoon ink using the Stamp of the Month- even though it is not a traditional Christmas colour is still has a Christmas vibe to it because of the candy cane stripes.

Now "Hop" on over to Darlys' Blog to see her work. Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas!

Oh what Fun- Cookies Layout

At first glance I wrote of the Oh What Fun Paper Packet as being too pink and girly for me- but then I decided to challenge myself and create a layout for my boys.

Every year we bake cookies and give them to family and friends. I have created this layout in advance for our photos, using the sketch challenge from Heart 2 Heart as inspiration.

I used the blue and green papers and accented with Candy Apple Cricut cuts and stamping- even though this is not one of the featured colours in the paper it still made my layout feel more Christmassy.

The Cricut cuts are both from the new Season of Joy cartridge, which I am loving for all my Christmas titles and embellishments. Isn't the gingerbread man cute? I surrounded him with stamped hearts to fill in the white space but otherwise did minimal stamping.

I used a family stamp set to stamp the quote onto one of the PML cards. Now I have a perfect layout for when we bake cookies at Christmas!

Products used:
Cardstock: Candy Apple, Clover, GlacierWhite Daisy
Embellishments: Season of Joy Cricut cartridge
Ink: Candy Apple, Clover
Paper: Oh What Fun
Stamp set: Quotable Words
