Under My Umbrella

It's Autumn here in New Zealand, and the weather can definitely change without warning! So far today we've had sunshine, torrential rain and a beautiful rainbow.

I usually don't like scrapbooking photos of myself but when I saw the Heart 2 Heart Weather prompt I knew that these photos would make a perfect match!

I used the So Much Happy collection to create this bright layout, and cut out some clouds from the cut outs as well as used some of the puffy stickers for interest. The rainbow zip strip tied n perfectly with my layout theme, and the matching journalling box made it easy for me to tell the story.

I used the umbrella thin cut from one of the Paper Doll stamp sets to further tie the theme of this layout together, and the sentiment from the cut apart sheet was the final touch.

I'm sharing this layout with the Design Team over at Heart 2 Heart challenges, and I'd also love to share this layout with Scrap Our Stash Saturday Cartoon inspired challenge as the Grumpy Bear inspired me with the blue and clouds.

Something Fierce Deluxe Scrapbooking Kit

Have you seen the new Deluxe options for the CTMH Workshops Your Way?

They give you some additional options for layouts with things like stamping, embossing and Flip Flaps, which are great for more experienced scrapbookers or those who want to play with new options.

I put together one of the layouts from this Deluxe kit using the suggested alphabet stamp set, celebrating my son's 9th birthday party. I love the blues and reds together, as well as the layering and funky triangle elements that were cut from the patterned paper.

Here is the front of the double page layout, with the Flip Flap overlay showing the photo of my son with his Fortnite photo booth props.

Then we turn the Flip Flap over, we have the 9th birthday feast on display as well as some more fun embellishments and another page using the Pocket Memory protectors.

Everything you need to create this layout, plus two more double page layouts and a single page layout, is included in this kit.

I'm linking this layout up with the Super Friends Scrap Our Stash Challenge, as well as the Use Your Stuff Numbers challenge for the 9th birthday layout.

A Tie-riffic Dad!

This week, the theme of the Heart 2 Heart Challenge is The Ties That Bind.

I immediately thought of Father's Day coming up, as I had a fun tie scrapbook layout idea in my head.

Here is the layout, ready for photos to be added from Father's Day.

I added in some of the Zoe Complements, as well as adding the stamped date to the journal strips.

I know I will get at least one funny photo, so I have added this sticker plus a wooden star. The blue sequin was stuck in the star, so I decided to leave it there as I thought it looked rather cool!

The tie was cut on my Cricut and I have cut the title into the patterned paper.

I am also linking this layout up with the Scrap Our Stash Challenge, as I was inspired by the Dad theme, the stars and the blue of the boy's shirt.

Color My Stash!

I have combined forces this week with two challenges: Scrap Our Stash and Color Dare.

I had some biking photos to scrapbook, and I dug into my stash to use the retired ProPlayer kit.

I used Kraft, Cranberry, Flaxen, Black and White for the Color Dare- although I had to substitute some of the Cranberry for Ruby as the patterned paper had both colours in it. The finished layout came together quickly using a sketch from the Magic ideas book.

I loved creating the title from two stamp sets, using a Kraft banner and Cranberry and Black ink. The stamp sets are both retired items for my stash, and the star canvas embellishments are also from my retired stash.

The journalling was written on a piece of Flaxen cardstock.

I stamped these arrows on Kraft cardstock using Black ink to draw the eye into the main photo and add an extra element. The main photo was matted in Flaxen and I also matted the two side photos with Black cardstock.

My elements were W- White cardstock, A- Arrows, S- Stars, H- Heart, Here and Happy, I- Ink.

Thanks for stopping by!
