Wild Berry is the colour of the year, and what better way to celebrate than with a special on Wild Berry items plus some exclusive products?

I grabbed some of the products on sale as well as some catalogue items featuring Wild Berry to create a quick and easy birthday card.

I used the Cake Day Paper Packet and Sticker Sheet, and then added strips of Wild Berry Cardstock. I stamped the sentiment using Wild Berry Ink and the Cake Day Cardmaking Workshop Kit stamp set. I added some interest to the Wild Berry Cardstock by also stamping these using Wild Berry Ink and the Circles and Patterns stamp set. I popped the sticker up on some 3D Foam Tape for dimension and lastly added some Wild Berry Dots.

Layered Flowers Technique Blog Hop

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop! This month, we are featuring Layered Flowers as our technique. This could be achieved through Thin Cuts, Cricut cuts, stamp images, or even with masking.

This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork incorporating this technique.

If you are coming from Michelle's Blog you are on the right track!

Easter is this weekend, and I like to do pages in advance- I know I'll be wearing a bright and cheerful dress so I wanted to use bright colours for this year's Easter Family Photo scrapbook page.

I also set myself a challenge to combine birthday papers, an Easter stamp set and florals!

I used the Mix In Paper Packet as the base, and added some other paper accents using the Cake Day Paper Packet and the Cake Day Picture My Life Cards

The Layered Flowers Thin Cuts make it so easy to add bold embellishments- I used a combination of Green Apple, Wild Berry and Lemonade Cardstock from the Cake Day Coordinating Cardstock to create the flowers. I also added Wild Berry Dots to some of the flowers.

Here you can see even more floral accents- I cut the Easter Eggs out from my Cricut using the EGGS font on my computer, and then tone on tone stamped some flowers from the Some Bunny Loves You Stamp Set and Thin Cuts. The floral border at the top is also from this stamp set and layered with some more Wild Berry Dots.

As a side note- how cute are these chicks from the stamp set! I had to add them into my layout.

I think I managed to combine Birthday, Easter and floral accents successfully into my layout- what do you think?

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto Darlys' Blog where you will find her sharing her layered flowers technique.  Be sure to leave a comment and happy hopping!

Australasian Cake Day Blog Hop

Hello and welcome aboard our Cake Day Australasian Close to My Heart Blog Hop.

If you have arrived here from Doris then you are in the right place.

If you landed here by accident, no problem, please join in by following the link at the end of this post.

Today I would like to share with you a creation which features Close To My Heart’s March Featured collection, Cake Day!

Of course, the first thing that comes to mind with this collection is using it to document birthdays; and so I put together a 12x12 layout of my niece's first birthday. The ice-cream elements work perfectly with her ice-cream birthday cake, and I love the colour combination of Lemonade and Wild Berry.

I used the zip strip and stickers for embellishment, as well as the Cake Day dots. I matted all of the photos on Wild Berry cardstock to really make them pop. I added string to the balloon stickers using a fine tip black pen.

The stickers in this collection are so great because they give you words, clusters, large focal pieces as well as borders- here I chopped the candle border up to create a washi tape look, and the sentiment stickers were perfect to add a caption to the photo.

I used a Cake Day Picture My Life card for a sub-title, and added the journalling on strips of coordinating cardstock. I love the fun cake sticker embellishment with the Cake Dots!

I'd love you to leave a comment before heading off to the next stop, Doreen.

March/April Catalog New Product Blog Hop

Welcome to our New Product Blog Hop!

If you have come here from Gina's Blog, you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around.  If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda’s Blog

This month we have 13 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using great CTMH products on their blogs. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!

I couldn't go past the bright and happy colours of the new Cake Day range- isn't it fun? I am also loving the new All Day Every Day stamp set.

I knew I had to create a birthday layout using the new Cake Day collection. I started off by using a White Daisy cardstock background that I splattered with orange Watercolour Paint, and left to dry. I then layered some of the new Cake Day Picture My Life Cards as photo mats to create a fun grid look.

I added some of the Cake Day Stickers for embellishment, and used the title stickers as well as using the border stickers as mock washi tape as I cut them up.

I also added some smaller sentiments and journal lines from the new All Day Every Day stamp set, and added further embellishments with the Cake Day Dots and more stickers.

I stamped a little banner on one of the Picture My Life cards with Black Ink using the Cake Day Cardmaking Workshop Kit stamp set.

I love how cheerful this layout looks and I can't wait to get some photos and journalling on this page- I just need to wait for birthday parties to take place again since we are all currently hunkered down at home with Covid. At least scrapbooking with this fun collection cheers me up!
