Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #172

This week's sketch At Atlantic Hearts immediately made me want to play with my new Whimsy Ribbon Pack!

I also stamped a sentiment from the new Love Your Face stamp set as the main focal feature.

This card will be going to a friend of mine who is struggling in life right now, to let her know I am thinking of her and that everything is going to be OK.

If this sketch or my card has inspired you, we would love for you to play along this week!

S1608 Purr-fect Halloween Australasian Blog Hop

Hello and welcome aboard our August SOTM Australasian Close to My Heart Blog Hop.

If you have arrived here from Doris then you are in the right place, and this is also the start of this month's hop!

If you landed here by accident, no problem, please join in by following the link at the end of this post.

Today I would like to share with you a creation which features Close To My Heart’s August Stamp of the Month- Purr-fect Halloween.

Halloween is not as huge here in New Zealand as it is in America, however this stamp set is way more versatile than just Halloween projects.

I created this card for my friend who always jokes that she is going to end up as a crazy cat lady-this stamp set sentiment was purr-fect indeed!

I used the Art Philosophy Frame cricut cut and stamped the frame in Sweet leaf ink, then added the sentiment in Eggplant ink. I cut the cat pocket card from the Artfully Sent cricut collection. The Flaxen paper was leftover from the Regatta paper packet, and I also used a purple bow I had in my stash and some green epoxy triangles. I am entering this card in the Between The Folds Creative Cuts challenge and the Color My Heart Color Dare of Eggplant, Flaxen, Sweet Leaf and Colonial White.

This exclusive Stamp of the Month  is only available during August. It can be yours for just $10 with a qualifying order of $75 or for $33 if ordered separately from your CTMH consultant.

I'd love you to leave a comment before heading off to the next stop, Scrap Stamp Share.

Last Chance Layout!

Hello and welcome aboard our Australasian Close to My Heart Blog Hop.

If you have arrived here from Meryl's Blog then you are in the right place.

If you landed here by accident, no problem, please join in by following the link at the end of this post.

Today I would like to share with you a creation which features some of the Close To My Heart items retiring at the end of this month. One of my favourite paper packets, Regattta, and a complimentary stamp set, Beach Days, have been used over and over in my household for capturing all of our summer memories.

I have some photos of us in the pool at my Dad's house, and I wanted to document them as we may not be swimming there next summer if he sells as planned. The Regatta Paper Packet and the Beach Days stamp set were perfect for this!

I have used one of the PML cards as a jounral box, and added one of the Glacier Fundamental Assortment paper clips. I also cut a crab shape from the Artistry cartridge and stamped the crab from Beach Days in Flaxen ink.

I also added a Beach Ball from the same stamp set, and added a title and some of my favourite Blue Epoxy Dots.

I'd love you to leave a comment before heading off to the next stop, Maz's Inky Fingers.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #156

Whenever I make a card, I always like to have a sketch to inspire me. This week's sketch at Atlantic Hearts is one I can see myself using again and again, as all of the design team have come up with fantastic ideas with this sketch!

I used the Brushstrokes stamp set and some scraps from the Charlotte Paper Packet to create this card. This white and gold riboon from the Regatta WYW was the perfect finishing touch.

I matched the gold bling to the gold in the ribbon, and added a sentiment and splotchy heart in black. This card could be used for a number of occasions- I like having some generic cards in my stash to quickly grab if needed.

Be sure to link up your own creations using this week's sketch!

Regatta Australasian Blog Hop

Hello and welcome aboard our Australasian Close to My Heart Blog Hop.

If you have arrived here from Wendy then you are in the right place, or you may have come here as the start of the hop.

If you landed here by accident, no problem, please join in by following the link at the end of this post.

Today I would like to share with you a creation that features Close To My Heart’s Regatta Paper Packet, a nautical themed collection that is also very versatile.

I used this paper packet to scrapbook a game of mini golf- not nautical or beachy but in need of some neutral colours mixed with masculine shades.

I cut a word art border from my Cricut on the ombre paper sheet, and painstakingly attached it to another piece of the Regatta paper! I added a zip strip along the side to anchor it to the page.

I added some Regatta Complement flair as well as a pennant cut from the paper and this golf ball. I simply cut a small circle and ran it through the Confetti Dots embossing folder, then glued it to the layout so that the embossing was face down.

The banner from the Woodland Romance stamp set was stamped onto the Regatta paper with Pomegranate ink, then fussy cut.

This paper packet is only available until the end of April, so if you love it be sure to get in touch with your CTMH consultant!

I'd love you to leave a comment before heading off to the next stop, Creating with Kara Davies.

I am also entering this layout in the current Color Dare challenge!

Featured Product- Complements

Hello and welcome to our CTMH Featured Products Blog Hop. This week our featured product is Complements.

If you have just joined us you can start here and continue on, as this is a circular hop or if you get lost along the way you can start here at the beginning as I have the complete list.

If you came here from Annette you are also in the right place. Now on to my project:

I decided to make a card mixing two of my favourite lines, Zoe and Regatta. I made a little Kraft abnner on top of the Zoe paper, which I blinged up with White Shimmer Trim. The sentiment was stmaped in a circle I cut out from the top of the patterned paper. I used the complements from the Regatta line to frame my stamped sentiment.

Here is a close up of the Complements framing the negative circle and sentiment. I love how Regatta has these flowers as well as the nautical embellishments, which really makes it versatile for a lot of themes.

Thank you for checking out my project. If you would like to purchase our featured product of the week or any additional supplies you can buy them here. If you enjoyed my project please comment below as we love feedback! Next on our blog hop is Melissa from My Heartfelt Sentiments. Make sure to check out her amazing work featuring this same product.

Watercolour Wonderful!

I love the new Regatta line, and watercolours are a perfect way to create a beachy themed background. I cut a strip of watercolour paper and painted over it with blue, brown and yellow strips until I had a beachy background I was happy with. I then splattered some more blue over the background by loading my paintbrish with blue paint and flicking it across the paper. Here is the background on my finished card, embellished and matted.

Here you can see a close up of the splatter- I love to do this to my watercolour backgrounds for extra depth and interest.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #148

Another week, another sketch at Atlantic Hearts!

I am in love with the new Regatta Paper Packet, which goes perfectly with this adorable Pirate Birthday stamp set. I combined these two to make a pirate themed birthday card!

I cut a circle and sponged it with three ink colours, then stamped the pirate ship on. The thing I love about our clear stamps is that they can be bent, and so I was able to shape the sentiment around the circle. Some paper, shimmer trim and the Zip Strip helped to add the additional elements of this card.

This paper packet is definitely my favourite from the new Seasonal Expressions 1 catalogue, and I have used it for so many different projects.

Regatta PML Layout

Since I am a mother of boys, I love any Paper Packet that is more masculine. When I saw the Regatta line, I had to have it! It is my new favourite paper packet, which is the theme this week over at H2H challenges.

The thing I love the most about the new Paper Packets is that they come with some Picture My Life cards that you can cut up and use on your projects, cards or in PML layouts.

Here I have used the Regatta PML pages to do a page on my son's swimming lessons.

Here is the full 12x12 layout with photos and journalling.

This "simply the best" title was already on one of the PML cards, and I stamped 'swimming' in Sapphire ink from the Play Hard-Diving stamp set. The anchor is from the Maritime Puffies.

Here I used the starfish and boat from the Regatta Complements. I stamped 'Make a splash!' in Flaxen ink from the Beach Days stamp set onto a journalling card I had in my random stash.

This wave paper from the Regatta Paper Packet is one of my favourite designs, and so I used it as a filler panel on my layout. I added a Flaxen banner from the Artistry cricut cartridge, and stamped the sentiment in Sapphire ink from the Play Hard-Diving stamp set. Some more of the Maritime Puffies on either side finished off the banner.

What is your favourite CTMH Paper Packet? Show us by linking up with Heart 2 Heart challenges!

Seasonal Expressions 1 New Product Blog Hop

Welcome to our Seasonal Expressions Blog Hop!  We will be featuring products from the new CTMH Seasonal Expressions catalogue.  If you have come here from Catherine's Blog, you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around.  If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda’s Blog.

This month we have 31 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using new products on their blogs. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!

One of my new favourite Paper Packets is Regatta- perfect for sailing, swimming and boating adventures. However, it also has some wonderfully feminine details with floral embellishments and the gorgeous Pomegranate colour.

I used one of the PML cards included in the new Regatta Workshop Your Way to create the base of this card, and discovered that the flowers on this card worked perfectly with the floral stamp designs on the new Woodland Romance stamp set.

I cut a 2 inch circle in White Daisy cardstock, then stamped the leaves in Flaxen ink and the flowers in Pomegranate ink. The sentiment is from the new Spring Critters stamp set, which I stamped with Chocolate ink. I also sponged some Chocolate ink around the circle to make it stand out, as well as popping it up of the card with 3D Foam Tape. The finishing touch was some White Enamel Gems.

Now "Hop" on over to Lela's Blog to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas!

A is for Adventure

Welcome to the first Everything ABC's Blog Hop of 2016!

For this hop we will be featuring the letter A. This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has chosen as their A element will be featured in their post.

If you came from Catherine then you're on the right track.

My A is for Adventure!

One of my resolutions this year is to get outside with the boys more often, and so on New Year's Eve we decided to go for a walk around a nearby private park with walkways. This was a bit of an adventure for the boys, as they had never been on a big walking track like this.

One of my other resolutions is to use up older paper packets, and so I used the retired Timberline paper and Complements for this double page layout, as well as some of my new Regatta Complements.

Here is my double page layout featuring my favourite photos from the day.

The left hand side features the lovely bold Adventure title from the Regatta Complements, as well as some trees and hiking themed icons.

The right hand side has the journalling, plus photos of us in the adventure playground after our walk.

I love the title as it has a subtle woodgrain look to it, which matched perfectly with the theme of this layout. It also stands out against the strip of Timberline paper.

I added a title from the Timberline Complements and stamped some journal lines for my layout.

I still have lots of outdoor themed scrapbooking items in my stash, so expect to see more outdoor adventures from me and my family this year!

Your next stop on our Everything ABC'S blog Hop is Wendy of  My Scrapbooking Blog.
