Slimline Card Blog Hop

Welcome to our Slimline Card Blog Hop!

If you have come here from Show and Tell with Michelle you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around.  If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda’s Blog.

This month we have 13 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this slimline cards on their blogs. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!

I love the sweet little cat from the Party Girl stamp set, and I wanted to show that you can make a fun slimline card using random stamping and touches of colour. I simply stamped the cat and then filled the white space in with one of the splotchy star stamps. The sentiment is from the Cattitude stamp set and popped up on Thin 3D Foam Tape. I used the new Circles Thin Cuts and cut the circle using Flamingo Cardstock, and then matted the random stamped piece in Flamingo Cardstock as well. I also added a bow using Blush Shimmer Ribbon

Here's a close up of the random stamping I did using the cat stamp and the embellishment scatter stamp. I stamped everything onto White Daisy Cardstock using Intense Black Ink, and then added colour to the cat's bows using my dry ink swiping technique (see my video of this colouring technique here). The colouring doesn't have to be perfect or precise for this, which is what I love about it! It adds just enough colour to the card without it being an overwhelming process.

Now "Hop" on over to Gina's StampinHeaven to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas with slimline cards!

I'm also joining in with the Slimline card challenge over at Just Add Ink for even more slimline card inspiration!

Tagged with Hugs

Image may contain: text that says 'Challenge theme: Tags Challenge end date: June 30, 2020 at 11:59 pm Heart2Hear Challenges heart2heartchallenges.blogs blogspot.'

This week at Heart To Heart Challenges, the theme is tags!

Handily, the June Stamp of the Month is Garden Tags, and so I decided to use these tags on my project.

I was totally inspired by my wonderful team member Melissa's design, and so I decided to create a similar design but using bright, bold colours. I paired together the Stitched Together papers with some cardstock and added a coloured tag.

I used a small sentiment from the You Make Me Happy stamp set so as not to detract from thew bold floral design.

The finishing touch was some Peacock Stitched Ribbon to match with the Stitched Together theme of my card and I was done!

My Kind of Day layout

Have you all seen this super helpful colour wheel that Close To My heart put on their blog a few days ago?

This has been a great reference to do triadic colour combinations with CTMH products, which also happens to be the challenge for one of the Heart 2 Heart challenges this month.

I recently went to a beautiful wedding (well aren't all weddings beautiful?) and I wanted to scrap my favourite two photos taken outside.

I used the colour combination of Juniper, Tangerine and Bashful as I was inspired by this adorable camera button.

I stamped the title and then added my chosen colours to the KIND to make the colour combination cohesive.

The main papers were Bashful and Juniper coloured, so I added pops of tangerine in the embellishments and stamping.

Look at this stunning location! Such a beautiful day and a beautiful couple.

ABC Blog Hop- J

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop!

For this hop we will be featuring the letter J. This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has chosen as their J element will be featured in their post.

If you came from Marie then you're on the right track!

I decided to use the Quick Card stamp- Japanese Blossom for my background technique. The quick card stamp is very intricate and can become the main focal point when you use it.

The card featured on page 107 of the Annual Inspirations ideas book was my springboard for this card.

This is only my third attempt at colouring using the ShinHan markers, and every time I use them I am getting more confident. I layered pink and purple shades on the flower, and then layered yellows and greens for the inner flowers and leaves. The inner part of the flowers was actaully done in a bright blue layered over the pastel green marker.

The end card only required some little pops of coloured cardstock and matching ribbon. And some shimmer trim of course, I love my bling!

This Japanese Blossom stamp is such a bargain at only $12NZD, and the colouring possibilities are endless!
