It's A Star Wars Banner Day!

This week at H2H we wanted to see your fun banner ideas!

I recently did this Star Wars layout and I haven't had a chance to share it yet, but luckily it features some banners that I cut from PML cards. Here is the full layout. As you can see, I used a mix of the Stars and Sparklers Collection and the Happiest Place Coordinating Cardstock.

On the left hand side, I added lots of different stamped stars from the Stars and Sparklers Cardmaking Stamp Set in Sapphire, Bluebird and Carolina ink. The title is also from this stamp set. Some of the stars were directly stamped onto my layout base, and I also used the thin cuts from the stamp set for the larger stars. The banner is a cut up piece from the Stars and Sparklers Picture My Life Cards.

On the right I added more stamped stars, another PML banner, a PML sentiment and then stamped some journal lines and matted them using a piece of the Stars and Sparklers Paper Packet. This starry paper paired so well the the Happiest Place Coordinating Cardstock with the silver foiled stars.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Here Comes The Sun

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!  This month there are 13 of us highlighting the Sunburst Technique.

This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork incorporating this technique.

If you are coming from Brandi's Blog, you are on the right track!

I couldn't wait to get my hands on the new Sunburst Background Thin Cuts- how awesome is this for creating a Sunburst effect quickly and easily?

Here are two different ways I love to use this Thin Cut.

The first way is to cut this using different colours of cardstock or different patterned paper. I cut the frame in Sapphire, and then cut the thin cut using Carolina, Bluebird and the Stars and Sparklers Paper. I then just used the pieces within the frame, like a jigsaw puzzle! I also used a sentiment from the coordinating Spot On Sentiments stamp sets, which coordinates perfectly with the circle part of the thin cut. I stamped the sentiment in Scarlet Ink and the card was finished!

My second way is to simply put some patterned paper behind the thin cut. Here I cut the thin cut in White Daisy Cardstock, and simply glued it on top of the black silver star cardstock from the Happiest Place Coordinating Cardstock. I kept with the silver theme by stamping a firework from the Stars and Sparklers Cardmaking Stamp Set in Charcoal Ink, and then rotating the stamp and stamping the next layer with Versamark and embossing with Silver Embossing Powder. I then stamped the sentiment in Black Ink from the Party Girl stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto Kim's Blog where you will find some additional artwork highlighting this technique!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know which card you like the best,  and happy hopping!

I wanted to use one of the Everyday Moments Cricut layouts, and so I got to work cutting using the Summer Vibes cardstock, Happiest Place Paper Packet and the Happiest Place cardstock.

Here's a close up of the left hand page. But where does the Stamp of the Month fit in?

This tone on tone Lemonade flower was stamped and fussy cut from the SOTM and then layered under the Cricut cut ampersand.

I also stamped and fussy cut the orange flower, and the title for the journalling box is also from the stamp set.

The right hand side is a bit more simplistic but still ties everything together.

I used the Stamp of the Month leaves to layer behind the Cricut cut heart.

Happiest Place Australasian Blog Hop

Hello and welcome aboard our Happiest Place Australasian Close to My Heart Blog Hop.

If you have arrived here from Kimberly then you are in the right place.

If you landed here by accident, no problem, please join in by following the link at the end of this post.

Today I would like to share with you a creation which features Close To My Heart’s August Special, Happiest Place.

At first glance this is a Disney themed collection, but I wanted to show you how versatile the amazing foil cardstock is within this collection.

I went to a Black Tie event last weekend, and used the excuse to get completely glammed up. Here are some of my favourite photos from the evening using the Happiest Place Coordinating Cardstock  paired with Clover cardstock.

You can see that I used the black star and white stripe foil cardstock from the collection, as the silver foil was the perfect touch to add some glitz to my pages.

I also added in some Black Dots and stamped the title using the Inline Alphabet stamp set, which is my new favourite alpha set!

I added tuxedo and bow tie Cricut cuts, but I really wanted to let the Happiest place cardstock and the photos shine. I created a simple journalling box by cutting a silhouette image and journalling around it as it was a musical event.

Look at that gorgeous shiny cardstock!

This exclusive Happiest Place Collection is only available until the end of August. If you do not have a consultant please contact me or place an order here.

I'd love you to leave a comment before heading off to the next stop, Passionate About Pages.

Happiest Place Blog Hop

Welcome to our Happiest Place Blog Hop!

If you have come here from Michelle's Blog, you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around.  If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda’s Blog.

This month we have 14 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this special collection and other great CTMH products on their blogs. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!

Here in New Zealand we don't often get to go to Disneyland, but of course the Happiest Place collection is much more than that! I have visions of graduations, birthdays, anniversaries, important celebrations- the list is endless.

I was going to share a black tie event layout but my order didn't arrive until late yesterday so I have only had time to whip up this quick masculine card before heading out to my partner's father's birthday.

One of my favourite things about this collection is the Silver Foil coordinating cardstock- here you can see I used at a feature for this card.

I kept with a red, black and white theme since the recipient is a Crusaders Rugby fan and these are the team colours. The stamps are from the Party Time set and then I added a Candy Apple Stitched Circle and some Black and White Dots for a fun little embellishment.
