Everyday Life

I love documenting the big events in my life, but it's nice to remember some of the everyday moments too.

One of the things I always enjoy is taking my two boys out for coffee dates when I have some one-on-one time with them.

I created this layout to document the coffee (and fluffy) dates using the Enchantment Fundamentals.

This adorable bear and his coffee cup were the perfect addition to my layout- as well as the sentiment. I added a few red enamel hearts

The This & That stamp set is great for adding a title to everyday moments, so I added one of the stamp sentiments to the top of the journal box as time with my boys makes me happy.

Crushing on Complements!

I am in love with the new My Boy Complements from CTMH- with two boys of my own I create a lot of masculine layouts so these are perfect for me!

My son recently celebrated his 7th birthday, and I wanted to create a fun double page spread for the birthday party photos.

I used Whisper Cardstock for my background and added some accents of patterned paper from the Enchantment Fundamentals Paper Packet. Then the My Boy Complements did the rest of the work for me!

The left hand side features a title pennant from the complements, as well as a star cluster and another sentiment sticker.

More star clusters on the right hand side, as well as this gorgeous 'hello handsome' title. The only stamping I did was to add some journal lines from a retired Stamp of the Month.

I love how the Complements brightened up this page in a matter of minutes- they do all the work for me! If you have some CTMH Complements at hand, why not join us over at Heart 2 Heart Challenges for the Complements Challenge this month?

Uptown Fundamentals

Have you seen the gorgeous new Uptown Fundamentals Paper Packet?

Uptown is the theme of this week's challenge at Heart 2 Heart, so of course I had to use this paper packet! The cross design was a perfect pairing to some photos of a musical I was recently in.

This double page layout was created using a cutting guide from one of the CTMH Make If From The Heart books. I paired the black cross paper with Raspberry and Blossom Cardstock to match the program. I also added some touches of gold using the Gold Fundamental Assortment and the PML Gold Watercolour Cards. I also added some Pink Enamel Gems down the bottom on top of the script patterned paper, which I thought also fitted perfectly with the photos.

The journal box and date were stamped using the Capture This stamp set, and I created the title from the This & That stamp set.

I added a Flip Flap Memory Protector to include the program on the layout for future reference, so that I can show my boys my name in it and also display the photos of the back of the program.

I love this paper packet for pairing with any other colour, and it works for a variety of themes. Black and white worked so well with these nun photos, but it would also work for wedding, baby or birthday photos.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #176

I can't believe I had a whole day to craft last week- the time was well spent and I absolutely fell in love with some of the new products that had been burning a hole in their delivery box!

One of the cards I created was based on this week's sketch at Atlantic Hearts.

I grabbed the new items in front of me and set to work!

I started off with a Colonial White card base, and added some of the papers from the Rustic Home Fundamentals. I also added some of the All Together Complements for the flowers and the decorative strip.

The leaves were stamped in Chocolate ink from the September Stamp of the Month Blessed Beyond Measure, and the sentiment was also stamped in Chocolate ink from one of the Flower Market exclusive stamp sets.

I really like the rustic simplicity of this card, and I will be playing more with this colour combination! Fingers crossed I get another day all to myself to craft again soon- I have been flat out this month and September is looking even busier.

Thanks for stopping by today!

S1609 Blessed Beyond Measure Australasian Blog Hop

Hello and welcome aboard our September SOTM Australasian Close to My Heart Blog Hop.

This is the start of our monthly blog hop, or you may have arrived here from Vandra.

If you landed here by accident, no problem, please join in by following the link at the end of this post.

Today I would like to share with you a card that features Close To My Heart’s September Stamp of the Month, Blessed Beyond Measure.

When I saw this stamp set, I loved the leaf shapes and was so excited to make a card until I realised that it used the Artbooking cartridge- the only one I don't have! I improvised with some leaf shapes from the Art Philosophy cartridge instead.

The card background was made from placing a rectangle of the Rustic Home Fundamentals Paper Packet on a Colonial White card base. I then stamped a strip of Colonial White cardstock with one of the textured stamps from the new Flower Market exclusive stamp sets in second generation Desert Sand.

I cut the leaves out and then watercoloured them in different shades. When they were dry, I added the leaf stem detail using the September SOTM and Desert Sand ink.

I scored the leaves down the middle and then folded them up slightly on the card.

The finishing touch was some gold sequins and I stamped the Thankful sentiment in Chocolate ink at the top of the card.

This exclusive stamp set is only available during September. It can be yours for just $10 with a qualifying order of $75 or for $33 if ordered separately from your CTMH consultant.

I'd love you to leave a comment before heading off to the next stop, Passionate About Pages.

The paper and both stamps sets were brand new goodies I have just opened, and so I am linking up this card with the NBUS challenge 7!

Hello and welcome to our CTMH Featured Products Blog Hop. This week our featured product is the new Fundamentals Paper Packets.

I love the new Enchantment Fundamentals Paper Packet, which was perfect for my son's preschool photo.

I love the additional School Complements that go with this paper packet, which I added to the corner of the photo.

Here are some more of the Complements in the top left corner of the photo. This alphabet paper was the perfect background for my son's stunning smile.

I matted the photo in the Ruby patterned paper from the Enchantment Fundamentals Paper Packet, and cut the title in Ruby cardstock with the new Happy Thin Cuts.

Here is the finished layout- the photo was so large that I only needed a few additional elements to complete this preschool page.

Hello and welcome to our CTMH Featured Products Blog Hop. This week our featured product is Fundamentals Stickers.

If you have just joined us you can start here and continue on, as this is a circular hop or if you get lost along the way you can start at the beginning with Kim as she has the complete list. If you came here from Kim's Scrappin with Heart blog you are in the right place. Now on to my project:

I needed to scrap some Christmas photos, and the Fundamental Assortment in Gold, Cranberry and Glacier were perfect to add some finishing touches to my layout. These great packs include one colourway of paper clips, glitter sticker shapes, gold and silver foiled bows and some wooden flair.

This ornament was cut on the cricut and then embossed using the Confetti Dots folder. I then added some gold circle stickers and one of the Cranberry bows.

After cutting this Christmas tree from the Cricut, I added some ornament baubles from the stickers and added a gold star to the top. I also added one of the fun paper clips.

This Cricut cut wreath also had some glitter circles added to it, as well as another one of the beautiful bows!

Lasty, my stocking was cut and then embellished with some gold triangle stickers and one of the Glacier wooden flair embellishments.

Here is my completed layout, using the Fundmental Assortments along with some Christmas Paper scraps and my photos.

Wise Owl Card

This week I am playing along with the Color Dare and BFT Embellishments Challenges.

I found some Lagoon cardstock scraps and this little owl that I had stamped but not used, and so I decided to rescue him by using him on my card. I also backed the card with my favourite purple fundamentals paper. (For some reason I thought we were supposed to use Thistle, not Gypsy, but I hope it still counts!)

The sentiment was something I thought a wise old owl would say, and I added some shimmer trim for extra embellishment. This was a fun way to use up some scraps I had lying around, and I love the colour combination so I will be using it again!

Celebrate!

Today I am linking up with Color My Heart and Seize The Birthday. whose challenges I combined to make this birthday card.

I love keeping all my paper scraps, but I end up with a massive bag and so this card design is one of my favourites for using up those extra bits and pieces. Paired with a bold sentiment and some sponging, this card came together quickly.

I did have to add some little hearts and bling to the card, but I love how the Fundamentals paper does most of the work for me!

This card will be perfect for my sister in law's upcoming birthday, and this card could easily be recreated with other scraps I have lying around. Playing with embossing folders would be a fun take on this card too!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #144

This week's sketch at AHSC really inspired me to create a layout instead of a card, as I had my Dad's birthday recently and wanted to show some masculine ways of using the beautiful la Vie En Rose paper packet.

I paired the polka dot paper with some Fundamentals Stickers and cardstock to create a layout perfect for the photos I have taken.

Here is the completed layout- I really like the colour combination and the grid look of this layout.

My dad is in his 60s (shhh don't tell him I told you!) and so this sentiment made me chuckle- added on to the layout it really suits him as he is still very active and loves to get outdoors and run.

The Fundamentals Stickers made it easy for me to add some embellishments, and the 'Happy' is also from the stickers. I then cut the 'birthday' from my Cricut and created the rest of the title.

Now I just need to print the photos and I am good to go. I would love to know if any of you create your layouts in advance of big events?

Head on over to Atlantic Hearts to link up your creations- we would love to have you play along!

ABC Blog Hop- V

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop!

For this hop we will be featuring the letter V. This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has chosen as their V element will be featured in their post.

If you came from Catherine then you're on the right track!

For my V,  decided to focus on the Vellum Accents you now get with each pack of Complements. These vellum accents are a great way to add fun details to a page.

Here is a layout I have done with the Whimsy Fundamentals Paper Packet. adding some of the Zoe Complements. The mix of vellum and stickers add a finished touch to the page and provide interest.

I used the vellum ampersand in the middle of my title, and the vellum accents made it easy to add the date with the cute Saturday piece.

The vellum sunglasses worked perfectly with this photo!

I encourage you to try out a packet of Complements with the stickers, chipboard pieces and vellum accents on your next project.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #114

Welcome back to another week with a sketch from Atlantic Hearts.

I have been wanting to try a scalloped dress for a while, and this sketch seemed to be the perfect fit. To create the dress, you cut or punch a large scallop shape then score  from the groove of the scallop into the middle at 1 space, then 2 spaces, then 1, then 2 all the way round. You will end up with two large segments together; cut one out and then fold the scallop back and forth the end up with the skirt. use the piece you cut out as the bodice and then decorate!

My finished card is very pink and pretty, and is going to go to a girly girl who is getting married.

If you are inspired by this week's sketch, don't forget to link up!
