You Make My Heart Happy
I haven't been able to participate in a lot of challenges recently, but when I saw Double Trouble's Trail Mix challenge paired with the Color Dare I knew I could participate!
I used 2x2 squares of patterned papers from Isabella, Wander and the current Mix-In to create this fun patchwork heart background. I matted it on a polka dot piece of paper from the Mix In, and then framed it with Sundance Cardstock.
Each paper was a different fun pattern, but I kept the colour palette quite simple in order for all the patterns to work together and chose papers with Sapphire, Sundance and Paprika tones. I also used a retired Doodled Borders stamp to stamp around the heart using Black Ink to create a more cohesive heart frame.
So that the heart still showed on the layout, I only used one 4x4 photo and matted it on Kraft Paper. The only embellishment I used were hearts that were leftover from using the Hearts Background Thin Cuts and Black Cardstock.
Finally, I kept the theme going with this title- the large sticker is from the Perfect Match sticker sheet and the rest of the sentiment was stamped in Black Ink from the Every Bit Of Wonderful stamp set.
I hope you have enjoyed seeing my mix and match paper heart layout- it looks tricky but it is really fun to do! Thanks for stopping by today and I'd love to know what you think.

Christmas in July with Double Trouble
This week I have a combined challenge for you- featuring Heart 2 Heart and our fun sister blog, Double Trouble!
Being in New Zealand, we do have our midwinter Christmas here and so I have been happy to sit in my craft room and create in this cooler weather.
For this card, I pulled out my old Merry, Merry stamp set that has just been re-released by CTMH, as I love the wreath! I stamped the wreath in Avocado ink and the pine cones in Toffee, and then added a bright Candy Apple sentiment.
I pulled out an old Christmas paper that had some holly springs in it, and then matted the wreath and paper on Kraft Paper.
My finishing touch was a bow made from burlap ribbon for the Double Trouble optional part of the challenge. What do you think?

Green and Gold Birthday Wishes
I had an idea for a birthday card using the numbers from the March Stamp of the Month, and so I incorporated them into the border of a card sketch.
The cheeky sentiment fitted right into the banner measurements, and I kep to a simple green. gold and white colour scheme to make the gold shimmer trim and the gold vellum paper the heroes of this card.
Come join us at heart 2 Heart and Double Trouble this week to celebrate St Patrick's Day, anything green, the pot of gold, an Irish tradition or maybe something lucky!

Mr and Mrs
I was recently invited to a wedding and I was also asked to create a card for a lot of people to sign. I knew that the wedding colours were red and green, and so I started with a base idea of Candy Apple and Sage together and then went from there.
The bold sentiment was cut from my Cricut, and then I used the Bunches of Love stamp set to create a floral focal point in the wedding colours.
I'm really pleased with how this card turned out and I hope the bride and groom liked it!
I flipped this week's sketch at AHSC to use as the basis of the design, as I felt that the bold title looked better at the top.
I'm also entering this card in the Double Trouble Flowers challenge!

Sunshine and rainbows
Its 2019 and I'm back into the swing of things in my craft room!
There's a whole new Ideas Book full of amazing goodies, and this beautiful striped paper immediately caught my eye. Paired with rainbows, it was just the happy pop of colour I needed to get my crafting mojo started for the year.
I used the sketch from Atlantic Hearts to create a cheerful rainbow card.
The paper and the rainbow chipboard piece were a perfect pairing with this sentiment from the January Stamp of the Month. I added some holographic sequins for extra sparkle and texture.
I am also entering this card into Double Trouble Challenge #18- pairing the circular sequins with squares and rectangles, plus linking up with Atlantic Hearts. I also think this fits the optional twist of birds, as the song "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" has a line about birds flying over the rainbow.
Thanks for stopping by on my first post of 2019 and I hope to share lots of crafty goodies with you this year.

Noel Christmas Card
I've been trying to use challenges for inspiration, and so this week I made a card based on the following challenges:
Craft Rocket- Christmas is Coming
Happy Little Stampers- Anything Goes With Dies
Double Trouble- Christmas with Tic-Tac-Tuesday

I chose the bottom Tic-Tac-Tuesday line and went with stamping, red and plaid plus I used a die and made a Christmas themed card.
The Noel sentiment is die cut from my Cricut machine, and I stamped the holly leaves and fussy cut, then added the berries directly onto the cardstock.
This card was then blinged up a bit, and now it is ready for sending!
Products used:
Cardstock: Candy Apple, White Daisy
Cricut Collection: Season of Joy
Embellishments: Grey Gems
Ink: Candy Apple, New England Ivy
Paper Packet: 'Tis The Season
Stamp set: Christmas Countdown

You've Got Class!
I used the You've Got Class Paper Packet and the School Kids stamp set to create a 12x12 layout.
I matted the photo with the notebook paper and added some of the other papers as a banner strip across the bottom of the photo. And look at that cute little boy stamp! My eight year old asked me to use this particular stamp- he's so helpful when I'm crafting.
I love the ruler stamp from the School Kids set so I used the Goldrush cardstock and then fussy cut to add an extra layer behind the photo. I also stamped the year onto Goldrush cardstock.
Each of my boys has their own school album so I did exactly the same layout for each photo- this is a quick and easy way to create multiple pages with the same kit and the same style of photo.
I'm linking these layouts up with the Double Trouble School Days theme and the Use Your Stuff School Is In challenge.

Taste The Rainbow!
The Three Amigos challenge was to create a project using at least one die cut, which also happened to be an option for the Double Trouble challenge, as well as not using patterned paper and linking back to the Three Amigos hop. I also was inspired this week by the Just Add Ink challenge of splatters and spots.
There is a nearby cafe in our area selling Freak Shakes, which are epic milkshakes loaded with lollies, colours and ice-cream. Naturally, my eight year old chose this as his school holiday reward during our mother son date, and I had to create a layout to showcase the epic treat.
I used a sunburst layout and cut it using my Cricut machine, and then layered different coloured cardstock underneath each negative piece.
I added a little bit of extra interest with some ink splatters, gold glitter spots and star stickers, and I also kept the journal space relatively simple as I wanted the starburst and the photos to be the main focus of my layout.
Stay tuned for more rainbow themed projects this month- I have so many to share with you!
